(Decatur location) The staff seems competent, I've gone there ALOT in the past year, and I'm not in any pain now, so I assume they know what they are doing. The endodontist is VERY knowledgeable. Anyhoo, it feels like a MONEY GRAB EVERYTIME I go!!! ALWAYS trying to upsell me on products I DON'T NEED, I went in for a cleaning, ended up needing a crown replacement? Why is a "treatment coordinator" on staff? Doesn't the dentist know what needs to be done and can't they relay that to the patient? Seems like a waste of a salary and more money out of the patient's pocket. Again, the staff seems to be pretty skilled and pleasant, but it feels like you are being HUSTLED EVERYTIME...I don't like that, and that's why now that I'm "cured" I won't be going back.

The dentist at Nanston are the BEST. The office staff is friendly, kind, courteous and professional, even though sometimes the insurance information might get mixed up, they are still great. They are expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for. They would be perfect for me if they were not so expensive.

I broke my number 30 molar and was trying to live with the pain. After 3 weeks I couldnt take it and called the office at 9 in the morning to get an appoitment. The girl got me in that day at 10:40 am. The wait was normal to me, the tech i guess you would call her was good. She wasnt overly friendly but she wasnt rude either. She had all my xrays finished in a matter of minutes and she even made a copy for me at no charge. The dentist came in and was very friendly, i liked the fact that she was young and spunky. she examined my mouth and told me i had an infection and that I needed a root canal and a crown. I thought all sounded about right and fair. I met with the billing lady and i did get the feeling they were nickle and diming but after all they are also a business. The treatment was going to cost me around $800 out of pocket. I told them I couldnt afford it and asked if i could just get it pulled. She went and asked the dentist and they told me what could possibly happen but if thats what i wanted i could do it. The billing lady went out of her way to call 3 different offices to get me in the same week and finally got me in the Decatur office. She also made me an appointment for the following week to get a deep cleaning, every dentist i have ever went to has always had me get this cleaning. I have never known what my free cleaning with my insurance is like :) Anyway, long story short, i have never had a bad experience here.

I am truly hoping that the Decatur Nanston office is taking these comments to heart and trying to make their business better. My first trip was a nightmare. They kept telling me it all due to a new computer system, but I was there for 3 hours didn't get anything done except X-rays and a quick dental exam -- I have to go back now for actual cleaning. When I asked that more of my parking cost be paid for, they said yes, but I had to get a speech how they don't do that normally, like I should be eternally grateful. I am tempted to ask for my X-rays and go somewhere else but when I called about doing that, they said it would be $45. So I am going to try again.

Had been using them for yrs, they made a lot of money off me. Jan 2010 had exam told 2 small pockets on upper left rear of mouth. Since then they clean my teeth and gave me two crowns. August 31st, I went in for a routine cleaning was refused the cleanng because I chose not to see the periodontists (more expensive treatment) this is the 2nd time they have done this to me. The first time I was coerced (they refused clean my teeth, so I gave in. This time I did not and am filing a complaint with the Dental Board. They extort their patients, and misdiagnose. I need legal counsel, Does anyone know a good lawer???. We need a class action suit. The billing department is dishonest and RUDE. I have complained several times about them holding on to my credit due to me. I believe by law they have 90 days to return overpayments, but they do not. They hold on to any refunds they owe you and apply it to your next visit. What if you don't go back. They held my money for over 6 months and I had to ask for it. When I complained they got Rude and told me it was not their policy to return money unless it was substantial. If you owed them money they would take you to a collection agency

Received invisalign treatment and had most of my appointments in an office or in waiting room. The molds, necessary for invisalign to make the trays, were prepared in the dentist office with my head up against the wall with the tech pushing all the necessary mold materials into my mouth, and my head through the wall. Subsequent trays were given to me in the waiting room with no dentist interaction (why use the chair for an invisalign patient?). Had to revisit the office on three seperate occasions to allow tech to get molds right. Management prepared three sets of mold, sending to invisalign only to have them rejected and request for "better" molds to be provided. No wonder I am unhappy with the treatment to date.

Dear StillUnsure, We are so sorry to hear about your experience at our office. Would you please call me to discuss your experience in further detail? Thanks in advance, for you time. I can be reached at 678-836-2255. Kate Young
This place is the WORST. Unnecessary treatments, overbilling, SHODDY WORK, unprofessional staff, run like a mill. We will be paying another dentist to FIX what they have messed up. We have called and complained about billing for an appt. that was (re)scheduled in too short of a time period to do anything AND WAS BILLED FOR IT. I complained and was told our insurance co. would be refunded. If the billing isn't refunded in the next 30 days we will be filing an insurance FRAUD claim. In addition, we were set up a 5 month debit withdrawal plan for $150 a month, PAID ALL FIVE MONTHS and received a COLLECTION NOTICE yesterday for $100 for something they FORGOT to bill. RUN. I can't stress this enough.

My wife and I booked appointments at two Nanston locations just a week ago (she in Midtown, me in Roswell up where I work). First, they called me at 8am on the day of my 12pm appointment asking if I could "come in at 9:15...you're 12pm isn't looking good.") Of course I couldn't accommodate that request and so canceled. Then my wife left early the next day to get to her appointment in Midtown only to find out, when she called to ask where to park, that they had canceled her appointment without so much as telling her! This group is dead to us. I would warn you: don't go to Nanston.

Beware!!! These people are very rude, unprofessional, and very incompetent. My story is lenghty and complex but let's just say that Nanston's Dental is a ripoff. What they don't realize is that they are still liable for providing adequate patient care. I guess they think they are talking to an idiot but they are going to be very shocked because I'm not letting this rest.

I agree with the above reviews there is nothing close to customer service with Nanston Dental all they care about billing and payments even when they make mistakes even after reports to BBB they have not changed please go to another dental group that puts patients first,Downtown Decatur is the worst, long waits and bad customer service and you pay for parking too + you wait long to be seen , just a few issues to start you off

Went to Nanston in Conyers after cracking a tooth right after Thanksgiving. They worked me in that afternoon and placed a temp crown the next day. The root canal was not fun but was not nearly as painful as I had been let to believe. They were happy to work out a payment schedule. The dentists and staff are always friendly and professional. Overall a bad situation was made much easier.

Dear Enforcer_237, Thanks so much for telling us about your experience! Generally speaking, a root canal is not a pleasant experience. We are very happy that you didn't experience much pain and were well cared for at our office. As a patient, if you are experiencing discomfort or experience a dental emergency, we make every effort to tend to your needs as soon as possible. We have a 24-Hour Emergency Service, so it is never too late or too early to call us. Thanks for allowing us the honor to serve you!
Stay away from Nanston! They are only concerned about making money and could care less about your experience as a patient and customer. The dentists try to sell you services you don't need, and the billing department is rude, dishonest, and incompetent.

Number of visits: one Services: Cleaning, X-rays, and exam Pros: Friendly, courteous staff. Excellent teeth cleaning. Cons: Took four attempts to get the full mouth x-ray right. Dentist spent maybe five minutes examining my teeth, then recommended a lot of work. My teeth are generally healthy and I have regular check ups every six months. No work has been recommend in the past three years, so I was skeptical. Nanston was VERY pushy trying to get me to schedule this work. I went to another Dentist who confirmed that NONE of Nanston's recommended work was necessary. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Dear DBAndrew, Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear that you received friendly service and were very satisfied with the quality of the dental cleaning received. Unfortunately, you feel that the treatment we recommended for you was not necessary. You are certainly entitled (and encouraged) to get other professional opinions. If you have dental concerns in the future, we hope you will consider having us serve you.
