Neighbors

Food selection is nothing impressive, yet the end product is terrible (bland, but still managed to make us sick to our stomachs) and service is THE WORST!! Even if they don't happen to be out of 1/2 the items on the drink menu, the list is nothing exciting- and the employees are rude. The place is dirty. (The bathroom is disgusting!) There are SO many good restaurants within walking distance of Neighbors, so I highly recommend to walk AWAY from that place What a waste of a patio!!...

DO NOT EVER ORDER ANYTHING HERE "TO GO"!!! I had to drive back to the restaurant three times to get my order correct. The bartender "John" was challenging and argumentative to say the least regarding the state of my food which I finally gave up on, on the third trip and took back to the restaurant. In hindsight, I should have probably checked my order, but ask yourself; should a customer have to go through every box in the bag to make sure the order is correct?? The chicken strips (which were left out of my original order) were cut in half, dry and looked like they had been left sitting out. The tator tots dripped in grease. The biscuit that came with the omelet was hard as a brick and inedible. John the bartender showed blatant disregard ignoring any concern over the condition of my food and passed me off to the on duty manager who unbelievably also showed no interest or concern. While I have lived in the neighborhood for seven years and have been to Neighbors numerous times, I have noticed a dramatic change in the care and concern for the patrons who frequent this restaurant. The restaurant is lacking good customer service, good food and shows a genuinely bad attitude. This neighborhood restaurant which once reflected the VA Highland charm & character, has clearly gone downhill to becoming a bad neighbor.

My husband and I love Neighbor?s Pub and have been going there for years. We have always enjoyed the service and the food is great especially for a late night menu. Every time I go I will sit at the bar or if I?m with a group of friends I sit at a table and my experience has been great. BUT recently when I?ve gone there I have been waited on by a server named Robert. I don?t know who this boy is but I have never wanted to walk out on a tab so much in my life. His serving capabilities are subpar and not only did he bring our drinks with his dirt filled nails but he spilled my husband?s vodka tonic directly into his lap. More importantly ? His hygiene is terrible. I can smell him a mile away and when he came up to the table he was scratching his unwashed hair and picking at his ears. We immediately change seats or leave if there is no one else around to serve us. My husband and I think this is a serious heath department issue. No one with hygiene that bad should be allowed to walk around let alone serve food or drink. I don?t know how this boy got hired but if I were the owner I wouldn?t have even taken his application. AGAIN? we love going to Neighbor?s, just never ever sit at a table with Robert.

I attend this so called "bar " on a friday night .I was attracted from the number of people on patio from the street decided to it check out.First impression the building looks as if was a attacked by pop up ads.Patio furniture looks cheap . concrete pads that i tripped over on my way in.Sat at the bar service was quick and polite which was a plus.good selection of beer .looked like a "cheap" attempt at a hooters minus the pretty girls.that place is a true dive!!!!!!don't waste your time

I hang out in the highlands a lot and like to drink good beer. It is hard to find a place with a real craft deer selection ( blue moon and stella don't count). Finally Neighbor's has stepped up and added 10 new taps. With Rogue Chocolate Stout, Maredsaus, Ommegang Witte, Festive, Abita Jockamo and others it a breath of fresh air.
