I went to NextCare in serious pain. The receptionist/Nurse(?)gave me a stern look and barked Insurance Card!? "I'm uninsured." I stated and she gave me a look like someone needed to call the exterminator. Without further ado, she sighed and barked "It'll be 175, to start, and that won't include medication." and then looked at me challengingly. Of course, she neglected to tell me that it includes blood work and an Xray (which is totally unnecessary with the kind of swelling I had. I would have paid and waited, as I was in serious pain, but the demeanor and lack even a small amount of civility put me off. Heck, the woman next to me was about to fill out the form on the clipboard and the recept. actually yelled, "COMPUTER!" and pointed to some computers that I'm sure none of us noticed when we first walked in. We're there for care; not for abuse. Don't bother with this place and go to another clinic, or your specialist, which is what I did.

This place is a nightmare. I have received bills for things that you can't imagine. When I called about my bill I was told their policy to do a pregnancy test on ever woman. They do not tell you their policy at all at the office. When I told them I had a hysterectomy they still had to do the pregnancy test and charge me $35.00. They also told me to come back when they couldn't take out my stiches. They then recharged me for a wound visit. This place is corrupt and should be shut down.

These people are horrible. Our 18 month old infant fell at day care and had to have stitches. We tried to call them to see if they would treat her. They will not give out the telephone number for the facility (huh?). The web site for this company says (direct quote): "for families and individuals of all ages". I even called the 1-800 number to verify she could be treated, and they told me that of course she would be treated. When we got there they refused to treat her because of her age. THEIR WORDS EXACTLY. This is outrageous. Here we were, wasting time while my 18 month old daughter is bleeding out in front of them and they tell us to go somewhere else. We could have saved precious time and gotten her to a hospital, you know, where they treat people, not decide willy nilly whether they feel like it today or not. DO NOT GO THERE.

I had been laid off from job, lost my insurance and didn't think I would be able to find a doctor to see me. Luckily NextCare was two blocks from my house and offered discounted services for patientsw / no insurance. I was in & out in no time and was better in a week. They even suggested pharmacies that offered discounted scripts for self pay patients. Now I have insurance & a new job and NextCar is my PCP.
