Decided to give this place a try. Looked like a friendly atmosphere and liked the sushi bar. Pricing is not too bad for sushi and the food quality was good. Only thing was that although it was early in the evening and there were just a few people there, when it came to paying the tab, they seemed to be in such a rush that was rather odd from any Oriental! Probably will go there again--only if there was no other choice.

the name sounded weird to me...why have steak and sushi together? the food was even worse. i had the sushi and it was awful. it tasted like it had been frozen, left out to thaw, then refrozen. it didn't taste good at all.

By the other reviews--Now granted, I've only had hibatchi once at Ninja, but I'm a regular at the sushi bar. The food is always good and service excellent. All of the staff calls me by name, and they know my typical order. I usually run up a decent sized bill, but I have found their prices to be fairly well-aligned with comparable places. It's not the very best sushi I have ever had, but it's good, and it's consistent, which is important to me.

This was the worst. Starting off with the name. Ninja Steakhouse & Sushi. I mean is someone about to slice and dice the cattle up right in front of you. I just don't understand what people are thinking these days.

This was the first sushi place to open in Cumming and they charged for the pleasure. It was not uncommon for my wife and I to have a normal meal with a bill that broke $70. The portions were average to small but the quality was good. Finally one time our dinner hit $100 and we called it quits. The prices were just too high (you have to pay for each 12 oz coke) and the return just wasn't there.

I can't understand the other negative reviews for this restaurant. I will first admit that I hate sushi, so I don't go here for that. But the hibachi is excellent -- very tasty. The ambiance is also nice, and the chefs are entertaining. A bit pricy, but I have been back several times.

Really there is not much to say except I concur with the previos 2 posters! I love Sushi and the whole hibachi atmosphere and food thing but this place should be closed down for imatating a restaurant. I have had better service and food and the gas station BBQ restaurants. The sevice we had was like being on an episode of "Punked" and I was really convined I was being messed with when I started to eat! In summation this place really really sucks!

My son always loves going to Japanese Hibachi restaruants, but this was the worst one we have been to in the Cumming/Alpharetta area. We had never had smoked bacon in fried rice before and it did not leave us with a good impression.

This place dosen't even deserve the high honor of a poor rating. A group of us went here based on a 8.4 rating from citysearch atlanta. The hibachi tables were all crowded so we thought it would be a good idea to sit at a regular table and order sushi and items from the hibachi menu. Which, by the way, are the only options. I do have to say that the main reason I wanted to go was to try their sushi. I love sushi! However, the sushi took well over an hour to come to our table. By that point we had already decided not to finish our meal. The soup and salad would have probably tasted better if they had made it with their feet. The main dishes could not in any way possible have even been within 10 feet of an actual hibachi grill. I have never experienced less fresh or less tasty food. The sushi could have made it all worth while. I believe cooking and sushi to be an art form and expect that to be part of what I'm paying for. These were uneven, loosley rolled, and the two end pieces looked like scraps. I know they arent going to lose any profit by trimming that away before serving it. Seriously, everything was pretty much unedible. Not only that but the server kept avoiding us upon noticing we weren't eating. they knew we were unhappy and seemed suprised when we expressed our opinions. They agreed to remove the sushi from our bill but in the end did not. My recomendation, at least the beer is pretty good and the place looks really nice. Oh yeah, sharing costs extra!
