I want you to know that youve come to the right place! If you are looking for caring Decatur veterinarians that practice great medicine, read on.
Hi, Im Dr. Max Katz. My Decatur Veterinary Clinic has been serving Decatur, Emory, and Atlanta veterinary clients for 30 years. We use the latest state-of-the-art Veterinary technology, surgical equipment and surgical procedures. Youll also be happy to know that our doctors are completely up-to-date on the latest cutting edge developments in.. the field of Veterinary medicine and pharmacology.
Whereas the vets at this clinic are superior, a few of their support staff are far from it...including someone who is supposed to be the first impression and representation of the clinic. She is one of the receptionists who has been there quite sometime. We don't know if she is burnt out with her job or just doesnt care, but she is cold, harsh, sarcastic, irritable and never has a kind thing to say.I have been going to this clinic for many years and have referred many of my friends there.I put up with this person, and one of the male african american techs (M!)--who also has no personal touch or sympathy towards anything-- because of the quality of care that I get from the doctor but I'm about to have to say adios. When my friends take their pets there they will call me and say, "what is up with that chick at the front desk??" and I always know exactly who they are referring to. E!! Whenever I have taken my dog in for a nail trim, anal glands, etc and the male tech comes out I cringe. He never acknowledges me, smiles at me or even gives my pet the personal touch--he just takes him and goes to the back. Makes me nervous to turn my pet over to him. Both these staff members have been there a long time and we just don't understand how Dr. Katz doesn't realize how they are affecting his business and LOSING business! I know quite a few folks who have left because of these two individuals. Wake up, Dr. Katz! They are not good representatives of your clinic!

Dr. Lloyd was wonderful to my cat Inky. He is gentle and sweet and even got on my cat's good side. She wasn't a fan of going to the vet and would therefore be a bit grumpy (okay a lot grumpy). BUT, my cat Inky always trusted Dr. Lloyd and would let him hold her without a fuss. Dr. Lloyd was instrumental in helping me keep Inky alive (with a good quality of life) for over 22 years even with a chronic condition. I have always been thrilled with the care that he (and the staff) has provided. Because of their excellent care I drove in from Gwinnett County (~35-40 minutes away). The drive was worth it! Dr. Lloyd is amazing and only wants the best for your pet.

I have been so impressed with this clinic. For years I was taking my cats to an overpriced and impersonal vet center. I wish I'd found this one much earlier. I have a very skittish rescue cat who will barely let me pick him up, but I watched Dr. Lloyd do so, calming him in a way I haven't seen before. I think he is a true cat whisperer. The office staff is friendly and helpful, the facility is clean and the prices are reasonable. I recommend them highly.

I have seen all three vets - Dr. Katz, Dr. Bell and Dr. Lloyd many times over the past year. With two senior dogs, 1 with Cushings and the other with 2 types of cancer, I have frequent need of the vet. I've been to many vets in different cites over the years and Drs. Katz, Lloyd and Bell give careful attention to your animal and really talk to you as the owner about what the options, expenses etc. are. The entire staff is warm and friendly and they don't push products or drugs. They are there to care for your animals. I highly recommend them for both cats and dogs. I also have a cat, but the cat doesn't need to go as frequently!

Dr. Lloyd is the Best!!! A+++. We would not trust our precious cats with anyone else. North Dekalb Veterinary Clinic is run very well. The Office Staff is very friendly, professional, and kind. The Vet Techs are very knowledgeable and helpful. The Vets are very knowlegeable, helpful, and patient. We have been using Dr. Lloyd as our Family Vet since 1993. Dr. Lloyd is wonderful, and we would never use anyone else.

Vets care more about their own egos then your pet's health. Staff can be friendly, but enjoys the same attitude of they are right and you are stupid. Prices are higher than other vets in the area. If you love your pets, do not take them here.

We've been going to this clinic for years and the staff there truly cares about our pets (both cats & dogs). We love Dr. Lloyd. Dr. Katz is great too. I'll be honest, Dr. Bell is very sweet and kind, but she doesn't seem to really "listen", and talks over us alot. She'll actually ask questions that we've already answered when we explained the situation as to why we were there. Overall, the clinic is great! We always receive follow-up calls after visiting to check on our babies. If we end up moving from this area, I don't know what we'll do!!

I just had to write a review to let others know what a wonderful experience I have had at north dekalb vet clinic the past several years. I have just moved away and will miss the clinic dearly! We started taking our shih-tzu, lola, there from the day we got her. We primarily saw Dr. Lloyd and he is excellent. He is so caring and you never feel rushed in the appt. He takes as much time as you need and is very thorough. We were very nervous parents because our first puppy had a lot of health problems and we had to return her to the breeder. The office staff is professional and friendly, and I like that they will follow up call after an appt. to check on your pet. Depending on the level of care, it can get expensive. However, if you love your animal as much as I do - you can't put a price on getting the best care possible!

We have seen Dr. Katz for over 20 years. A few years ago, we moved from the Decatur area to Gwinnett County. It is not convenient to bring our babies in, but we wouldn't consider letting anyone else care for them. We know that Dr. Katz will make certain the very best of care is provided whether it is an annual exam or an emergency. And, we know there is no better diagnostician or DMV anywhere. Add to that his true love for animals and compassionate nature and VOILA! you have THE BEST! Thank you, Dr. Katz, for all you and your staff do!

PREVIOUSLY: My cat, Yoda, was extremely sick in 2003, and it was touch & go for awhile. He had to overnight at an ER facility in spite of Dr. Lloyd's expertise & TLC. While in the ER, Dr.Max Katz called me that night to apprise me of Yoda's condition. He made a stop just to check on him which, in my experience, is most unusual! Yoda is still with me to to this day. NOW: This week, the day before I was to leave the country, I took my cat Cassie in as she had symptoms that were progressing & non-responsive to treatment. I left her there, and got a call later that day from Dr. Lloyd who indicated that she had a mass. I hated to leave her, especially since I would be in another country, but I had no choice. Today, I was told that Lloyd had tried to reach me, to no avail, & to call his cell. I immediately did so x 2,but had to leave voice msgs. After two anxiety ridden hours, and at my wits end, I got a call from Dr.Katz. Max will never know how much his informative, yet compassionate call meant to me. It allowed me to make a necessary, but very difficult decision = I let her go to "the other room" where peace & serenity reside, the antithesis of the pain & suffering that had become her reality. UPDATE: Given Dr.Lloyd's previous level of care, I understand that I was out of the country and communication is difficult. This review was written under great emotional duress Your pets are in good hands at North Dekalb!

Dr. Max and Dr Lloyd have been looking after my cat for the past almost ten years. These gentlemen are excellent in their care, especially as my cat has aged, they provide all the care he needs, including following up after each visit. i also have a new dog who they care for beautifully. I am so glad that Dr. bell has joined this practice-- even in the Atlanta traffic, i would drive across town to get their care.
