My son studied chess with Coach Joe a few years ago and we still went to there for tournament. Very clean and nice place to learn and play chess. Coach Joe is very nice and you can tell that he truly loves kids and chess. Many of his students won state champion at differend grades. 5 star coach and place for chess kids!

    Chess in NE Atlanta!

For years, Metro Atlanta has a number of places to learn and play chess, but North-East (I-85/I-400 corridor) was lacking. I was truly excited North Georgia Chess Center was started in Cumming. Joe has created the center with the long term in mind. Joe teaches classic style and focuses on building core skills. My daughter took one of his summer camps recently and enjoyed it very much. Not only did her game improve, but he coached her how she can continue to improve on her own. I have a very high respect for Joe's teaching ability and can heartily recommend him. Not only is it a great place to play chess, but it has one of the nicest lounge areas for non-players to wait (and for tournament players to rest between rounds). With the feel of a living room, the waiting area is a good place to read or to use your laptop (complete with wi-fi access). If you play chess or want your child to learn and you live close to Cumming, you ought to check it out!

If you are looking for a place for your child to learn and grow, this is a great option for after school or to play a weekend tournament. Joe has a comfortable facility with many spaces for teaching, playing and socializing before and after games. And adults, if you think you're a good chess player, go up against some of Joe's students... they love picking on the adults ;-)

Joe has taught my 5 year old son to play chess, he got me into it along the way. He is very patient and creative in finding ways to keep Jaden interested in chess. To learn from Joe and share his passion for the game is a wonderful treat, thanks Coach!

This chess center is not only great, it is really outstanding. Joe (Coach) is an excellent teacher for kids and others who are interested in learning and playing chess. Don't miss this opportunity in Northern Georgia. Franz R.

My son, a 3rd grader had a blast in their chess summer camp. Joe is very good with kids and one can tell that it is not merely a business. He genuinely wants to inspire the students to do their best. It is also a fun place to be. Your kids will enjoy playing chess there!

Joe has helped to give my son confidence in himself through chess. His teaching style includes much patience. Joe has not only improved my son's game of chess but also the game of life by helping him with his social skills. Many thanks to Joe and his crew for their dedication, inspiration and knowledge.
