Do NOT use these folks. A few years ago they built and installed a waterfall in our backyard. Over the years, the waterfall began to lose water and in May, 2014 we called them back to give us an estimate to fix the waterfall. A price was agreed on, the "work" was done, BUT overnight the waterfall was losing more water than previously. Unfortunately, we had already paid them for the work. We called them back, and got promise after promise that they would come back to fix it. They made appointments that they never met, made excuse after excuse about the 'delay', finally sent someone to replace the waterfall liner, took the waterfall apart, and LEFT!! They do not return phone calls or emails. I have photos of the mess that they left.

These guys are a total rip off. We had Joe and his colleague Mark come out to give us ideas for a back patio and landscaping in the front yard. Mark charged us $250 for a rudimentary, juvenile "design plan" that was pencil sketch on graph paper that looked like it took about 5 minutes. We were given this "design plan" so we could obtain competitive pricing using the same plan- to ensure an "apples to apples" comparison of project quotes. We were told by Joe that if we ended up using them for the final project service, the $250 would be credited against the final amount. First, we were extremely disappointed with the "design plan" and I expressed this to Joe. Several weeks later we still hadn't received a quote and I reached out to Joe to see what was the cause of the delay. He assured me he'd have a quote to me soon. That was several months ago and I haven't heard from him since. It is completely safe to say that we 100% wasted our money. We've had a few quotes from other companies since meeting with North Metro Group and they were all by far more professional and -guess what- prepared the "design plans" right then and there AND provided quote estimates right then and there. These North Metro guys are a joke and completely unprofessional and unreliable. Don't waste your time.

In the Fall of 2007 we wanted to replace our front lawn (fescue to zoysia), install a sprinkler system, remove & replace our drive and landscape our back yard. Joe the owner/operator of N.Metro Group was a convincing salesman and came across as a nice guy. Having one company act as general contractor for all our projects seemed like a good way to remove certain headaches. Wrong! Following Joe's advice to lay a zoysia lawn when dormant has ended up costing us a lot of extra cash, time and effort. Nearly a year later we still do not have a good lawn and in spite of requests to make this good NMG has refused to replace all the areas of sod which did not take, in spite of their guarantee. When you pay $5k for a lawn you don't expect to wait several years for it to look good or to have to seek legal advice to try and get your contractor to make good on their promises. The sprinkler system leaks. The finish on the drive is poor and the area in front of our garage had such a dip after it was poured that a run-off drain had to be installed, adding further t the overall poor appearance. Total investment $20k+. Satisfaction - very disappointing.

This review is fraught with inaccuracies and quite frankly lies. This customer and I were on very good terms until quite recently and a lot of the complaints in the review that was posted, are new information to me. It's my belief that the sod is in the shape that it's in because of the drought we went through in addition to the customers lack of care. We do feel bad that the sod has not done well, however, we were not contacted about this until after the customers warranty period had expired or gurantee as he refers to it as. Even despite this fact, I still had my guys go in and replace large sections of the grass, hand pull weeds, apply a weed and feed, sand other areas and reset the irrigation timer, FOR FREE!!! This customer has not been asked to pay us one additional dime toward any of these efforts, even though he was past his warranty and we didn't have to do anything further for him legally. As far as the driveway is concerned, we already addressed those issues several days after the concrete was poured, again FOR FREE!!! The drain the customer speaks of in the drieway, again added after the fact and installed FOR FREE!!! I just reset the irrigation system back in June or July of this year and not one word was said about any leaks, so I'm not sure what's going on with that, but had the customer made us aware of that, we would have come and fixed it FOR FREE!!! That's how we work. You would expect that when a person pays $5k for a yard they would take the time to maintain it. It is in my professional opinion that this customer did not take care of the yard at all. Our contract is very specific, which they were out of warranty anyway, but it says it is the owners responsibility to water, weed, fertilize and maintain the grass after installation. Failure to do so shall void our warranty. It is at our sole discretion as to whether to replace the grass or not. So in addition to being out of the warranty period they also voided there warranty by not properly maintaining the grass. Even despite all this we still tried to help as much as we could, before we just had to say enough already. My generosity goes only so far. In closing I do feel bad that this customer has decided to use this website as a forum to voice his displeasure with us. This is obviously not the way we would have preferred for things to end, but we can't make everyone happy. The most we can do is try our best to do the best job possible as we have been doing for a number of years with a large number of clients. Our other reviews on this site, as well as others, speak for themselves. Oh by the way, before this review, the customer had sent me an email threatening legal action, at which point I told him to please check his contract and have his attorney contact me directly. I, at that point, ceased all communication with the customer as is customary when someone threatens legal action.
I instantly felt like I could trust Joe Vallero, the owner. I made a good choice. His staff did a great job on a stone patio, retaining wall, circular drive, stone steps, a dry riverbed and much more. The work was carried out very well. You can hire this company in confidence. The staff were very polite and respectful.

Nothing but good things to say about this company. They did a large scale retaining wall and leveling job in my backyard. Started as promised, billed as promised, cleaned up every day so that the area wan not an eyesore, and were always very courteous and considerate. Highly recommended. Update: I used them a second time and once again had a very good experience.
