I received my first bill of $150.00 (after my insurance paid them over 6,000) Sept. 21st. As of today Oct 10th) I have received 4 phone calls wanting to know why I have not paid it yet. Horrible rude people. Thinking of contacting the Attorney General.

Don't get in any hurry getting medical records from their 2nd party medical records provider. Was one phone call/email away from contacting Clark Howard. Took 4 months or so to get them. Also, and this is very important, if you or a loved one go to this or any hospital, do get your medical records. Why? I had to do the medical records request and get copies of them to see if insurance would reconsider a bill. After reviewing my records, I found out I had something else that appeared serious that needed further investigation. This matter was never bought to my attention or passed on to my general physician. If I never contested that bill, who knows if I had something that could of got more serious. On the positive side, I gained a great neurologist after my visit there.

I am another in a long line of people who have billing issues with this hospital. They were supposed to obtain a referral for an outpatient procedure on my husband and failed to do so. They performed it anyways and then submitted the bill to my insurance for payment. What the insurance didn't pay they are trying to get the money from us. I've been fighting with them for 5 months now for them to correct their own mess. What makes it better they released accounts to a debt collector that were actively being disputed. My mom almost died when she went to the ER at this hospital. She was in severe pain and they assumed she was there just to get drugs. If we had not insisted that the doc on duty order diagnostic testing she would have died from major internal bleeding. Is your credit and your life worth saving a little gas? I think not.

The care is average at best. The billing dept is a nightmare. They harass you before they even hear from the insurance - they estimate what you owe, send you a bill, and then follow with phone calls to your home and business. They dont have their billing correct even - my child got bills for his surgery. Go to Dahlonega, Gainesville or Emory Johns Creek - stay away!!!!

They charges whatever they want. They never send you any bills and then tranfer it to collection agency. Nobody in collection agency nor in hospital could handle the case. They repeated the same answer. I end up to pay $1,800 for a simple 5 minutes x-ray review. NEVER EVER visit this hospital. Run away.

the billing department is a joke, they harass you before your surgery and after! and if the billing department isnt enough to scare you know this, a family member went for a severe case of atheletes foot (unknown at the time) and was perscribed a cream that had seroids in it resulting in a staph infection. after a follow up a different doctor snickered at the mistake.

I am self-pay and was told if I paid the balance within 90 days would receive a 40% discount. Upon checking out, I paid $300 but was told I couldn't get a receipt or a copy of my bill. Within one week, I began receiving collections calls. I explained that I had not received a bill yet and was told one would be sent. Two weeks later, still getting calls, still requesting a copy of my bill. Finally after me calling them many times, someone said they would fax it to me and did. I paid the balance minus the 40% discount, and was told I was paid in full no balance, thank you very much. A week later I began again to receive harassing calls for the supposed 40% discount balance. After explaining to many more people that I had paid, one lady told me I still owed $300 even with the discount (remember here that I paid this the day of the visit!). She said they had no record of that payment on the day of service. I explained that it was shown on the bill they faxed me, and I had the statement from my bank showing the payment cleared. I was told that she would check and call me back. Haven't heard any more from that one. I am still getting bills although the calls have stopped. I will NEVER willingly go to any Northside Hospital location again, nor will I suggest them to friends. I had heard from a co-worker previous to this experience that their billing department was rude, obnoxious and did their best to try to con you at every opportunity. She was right.

I recently had surgery at Northside Forsyth and couldn't be happier with how I was treated. The nursing staff was kind and attentive, never once did I have to ring for a nurse as one was with me the entire time during recovery. The hospital room and equipment was brand new, clean, and looked well cared for. Also, parking was easy and FREE (unlike Northside Atlanta). Check-in was a breeze and I was out after my surgery in a reasonable amount of time. The only downside is the preregistration stuff has to be done onsite with them rather than over the phone as is with Northside Atlanta. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to schedule any procedure that they offer at Northside Forsyth.

They did not hurry with our emergency, but also tried to bill as without billing our insurance. Why, lady on a phone confirmed that she has our insurance info and will bill our insurance first. Everything went fine with insurance and we got bill for our copay. I prepared and sent the payment within few days. After about TWO WEEKS we started receiving harassing phone calls for the hospital that we did not pay the bill and they are going to submit it to collection agency. Another phone call, and another one- trying to prove that we send our payment. We also confirmed with our bank that it has been cleared by the Hospital. VERY RUDE and unwilling to listen.

I scheduled an appointment for a physical with Dr. Jenkins on December 1, 2006, and also asked if there was a way I could get in sooner because I was having a great deal of problems with my knee. I was offered an appointment on 11/7 at 3:45. When I arrived, taking time off from work, my husband had to take time off to drive me, and I was told I wasn't scheduled. I told them there had to be a mistake. After an hour, one of the staff told me I had cancelled my appointment. I told them I had not. There was one phone call concerning this appointment and I didn't call and cancel on the same phone call. She said I did. She said if I wanted to wait around, if this was an emergency, she would try to get me in with a doctor. No apology was offered, she insisted I had canceled my appointment. My husband had class that evening and we could not stay. I told her to cancel everything. This office was recommended to me, but I will let everyone know that this kind of incompentence could lead to wrong surgeries being performed and worse and stay far, far away.

My wife had her delivery at Northside in Fulton and we had also used the one at FORSYTH for her GTT (Glucose Tolerance Test). They were a very very nice and friendly bunch. Also, Northside in one of the best in ATLANTA.
