Forced to Pay for Nothing
I "inherited" Northwest when we bought our house, and continued to use them over the past few years. They have the habit of calling to announce when they're coming out (often with only a day or two's notice), rather than allowing you to schedule the appointment at your own convenience.
For the second time, I've been charged for a visit even though I haven't been home when they've showed up (both times I was out of town and didn't receive the message saying they were coming). The first time, I reluctantly paid, the second time I refused (after all, I didn't get the service I was paying for), and explained why each time they've called asking for their money. Despite my mentioning my concerns, I have never been contacted by a manager to discuss the matter in more detail.
Needless to say, I no longer use them, and I've since learned that most other pest control services are much cheaper, more effective, and are a little more accommodating about scheduling.
