Realizing all these reviews are rather old. That being said...The reason this business is so successful is purely because of the trainers. Sadly, what you see on the outside as a client, is not all perfection on the inside. The owner of this farm treats her employees with such disrespect, its disgusting. The owner, (Dana), has lost 3 o her 4 fabulous employees (trainers) in the past year. She has had to hire all new staff, minus one because of her unprofessionalism. The way she treats her employees is unimaginable. The reason 3 of the 4 trainers quit was due to emotional and verbal harassment given by the owner, unprofessionalism on part of the owner, and the simple fact of how she treats them. A business is only as successful as the employees and boss that work there. Dana calls her employees at all hours of the day, but puts restrictions on when they can call her, she demands they work when they are off ( and does not pay them), she even takes her personal frustrations and issues out on her employees, and spins it to be their fault. This woman can be deceiving, and manipulative especially to make her employees and clients feel loved, and puts on a "motherly" facade; only to use personal information of her employees against them. If you are looking for a caring environment for your children, or yourself to learn horse care in, stay away from this place. This woman is not respected in the Georgia Horse Community. Agree with Reviews Atlanta. Stay Away.

My daughter had her birthday party in August, but one of the trainers was 30 minutes late for the birthday party. We found one of the trainers at the party to be unfriendly. We shrugged it off as an anomaly and my daughter began beginner riding lessons in August. The trainer was condescending to the children and told them "she wasn't going to teach them anything if they didn't ride on the rail." After I complained the owner offered private lessons with yet another trainer in an attempt to make things right, but the new trainer was late for the lesson and the owner didn't mention that the lesson would be shorter. When I complained about the lack of communication the owner dismissed us as a client. So not only were the trainers late and unfriendly on a consistent basis, so was the owner.

This is a well run facility with excellent coaches who really care about the kids and horses. My daughter has learned a lot in 3 years and enjoys competing in IEA shows now. Coaches are great with the kids.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Oak Creek Equestrian Center (OCEC) !!! If you want your child in a well-run program with a highly professional trainer who sincerely cares about all of the students and horses then this is the barn for you! I've been involved with many trainers and barns around the Atlanta area for many, many years and can't say enough about this environment and trainer. Your child will be taught excellent horsemanship, hunter riding skills in a happy, safe environment. Isn't that the bottomine of what you're looking for? Dana Karen loves her students, horses, and shows nothing but professionalism at all times. Don't listen to any negativity from sour grapes on this website...go meet Dana, her horses, her riders and their parents and you'll understand what I mean immediately. This is definitely the place to let your child ride, learn, grow, and be nurtured at the same time. Thank goodness we found Oak Creek Equestrian Center - we couldn't possibly be happier with this barn and trainer!

Our daughter loves Oak Creek. she rides with the barn 's IEA team and has lessons and practice sessions 3 times a week. As parents we particularly like the fact that your child can ride so much and compete in shows at local, regional and maybe even national level without having the responsibility of owning a horse. Our daughter spends hours at the barn, she enjoys the time she spends with the horses, her friends and the people who work there. And it's so convenient, avoiding having to drive out further .

Oak Creek Stables provides 2 in town locations that are safe and clean environments. My child did her first horse camp at Oak Creek this summer and loved the horses and instructors. She is now continuing in their lesson program.

Manager cycles thru instructors every 6-8 months. Been here over 18 months, been thru 4 instructors in that time. No other activity (gymnastics, ballet, music, etc)my child participates in has that much turnover among those directly involved with teaching her. Sets a very poor example and doesn't allow for closure when instructors move on. Poor communication among the staff that starts with the manager and trickles down. NOT a supportive environment for developing lasting role models. Too much inconsistency and a scatterbrained leader. You can find better, look a little further out.

My daughter has been riding here for over 2 years. Can't beat the convenience. Dana works well with the kids. Its not a fancy place but it has everything you need to ride successfully--and I don't need to own a horse!

My daughter has been riding at Oak Creek Stables for over 2 years. She wants to ride horses in college. We cannot afford to own or care for our own horse. This stable and its ownership has provided an affordable opportunity for our daughter to live her dream. I have NEVER felt that my daughter was not safe. The animals are well cared for and my daughter gets the opportunity to help with this care and has learned the responsibility of animal ownership. There are so few stables left in our area. I am greatful to the property owners for continuing to mantain this property for equestrian use. It is conveniently located in East Cobb and truly has provided my child with a great opportunity. I HIGHLY recommend this stable and owner!

My child has taken lessons at this facility and I was sadly disappointed at the care of the horses, facility, and the knowledge of safety for my child. I do NOT recommend this facility, the lack of professionalism and knowledge of the horse industry is very evident.

We've been with Oak Creek for just over 2 years and are very happy with the instruction. My daughters love the horses, instructors and petting zoo animals. They have learned so much in a short time. We highly recommend it.

...choosing Oak Creek Stable. We're in our third year there, and it gets better and better. Students learn everything, from proper care of horses to tacking up to proper riding techniques. The stable has mounts for young beginners on up. Dana is a caring manager, and the trainers are wonderful and very good with children, with loads of experience. My child is learning so much and her confidence has greatly increased. Highly recommended!
