I have found that the MAJORITY of the teachers have been helpful and very attentive to my children (3) who have attended Oakview from 2003 to the present. My daughter in particular was very shy and every morning a teacher would take her by the hand and introduce her to an activity and sit with her until she warmed up (I know because I watched through the window EVERY morning.) My children always came home happy and would write "love notes" to their teachers often. Anyone looking for a traditional preschool experience with lots of play (structured and unstructured) and where you child will learn to be a good friend should check out this school!

You would only notice if you ask the teachers and your kids. I have found that the there are a lot of miscommunication between teachers in regards to an incident that happens. Some teachers do not seem to care enough to help open up a child to adapt to their peers. Most of the teachers are not as active during outside play, usually reserve until some child cries. The assistant director is not as friendly as I had hopped, and she seems to run the center most of the day. Though she worked there for ages, she should learn to smile and talk to a parent with some customer service skills, respect. I would say about 4 of the teachers there are very friendly and caring. I had observed them by talking and spending a few hours there a few times. Especially asking my kids who they like and why. You would recognize these friendly teachers by their position because they are not as high up. This center is okay in my book, but you would need to talk to your kids about their day everyday at the center. I would recommend spending a few hours here and there to see how the teachers are.
