A fantastic experience. The professionals at Onyx exceed expectations in expertise and service. You are kept up to date regarding the status of the repair. While I have turned to Onyx several times, recently my hard drive failed I brought it to Onyx and it was replaced quickly. I had a further concern and they were more than happy to look at the drive and re-test it. While they were at it they took care of another issue I would never have found and improved my computer's speed. They take their time explaining things and you come away feeling great about the experience. I use my Mac for my business and am delighted to have Onyx to count on. And I do.

Extremely positive experience! My Macbook Pro had some water damage (it wouldn't even boot) so I took it to Onyx. The staff were extremely professional, they gave me an update and an assessment within 3 business days, then successfully fixed my Macbook for an extremely reasonable price. One thing I really appreciated was their honesty when I asked their opinion, instead of giving the typical politically correct, corporate business answer, or the smarter-than-you technical computer jargon lecture, they actually spoke to me like a civilized human being, mono e mono. I've had some really bad experiences in the past, but this one made me walk away with a smile, almost renewing my faith in apple repair. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

When your business is on your MacBookPro and your MacBookPro hard drive crashes, it might be easy to despair. No, no, no. Call one of the swell dudes at Onyx Consulting. I've used several other services but they could not compare to Onyx. The service is excellent and Ken and Reed are very helpful. They have fast turnaround and honor the warranty.

I was having a really difficult time w/my MAC...the fan was hyper-fan and running like crazy - heating up the machine. I needed it badly for work. Ken took it in and checked it out quickly. Then, my hard drive was crashing - so he took it in again - turned it around w/in days and after MAC checked it out - they said they fixed it. However, it was not working properly still - Ken suggested (and put me in contact w/someone from MAC) that I see if I could get a different computer. MAC sent me a new computer - Ken was always so helpful, prompt, informative, and more than anything - patient. I would HIGHLY recommend him to help w/any MAC products. Thanks Onyx!

This the company I delt with a year ago, fals guaranties, charging fees upfront then instead of giving solution, ask for additional payment. I was asked for extra payment for them to conitinue determining the problem, because the initial fee was for superficial observation only. Awful experience

This is the same customer who wrote a review on 2/22/2007 (two years ago!) at our Northcrest location. She was abusive and she was banned from our service centers. Unfortunately some people use Kudzu as their only means of retaliation when they are clearly in the wrong. We believe most sensible people realize this.
I have an iBook G4 that the original 60GB of hard drive space was hardly enough for all my pictures on iPhoto. Onyx Consulting in Decatur was able to install a new 250GB hard drive, migrate over all the existing data, and had it completed ahead of schedule. Ken was quite informative with my questions and I have confidence in the work performed. Thank you Onyx!

These guys did a great job servicing my PC laptop just before the hard drive was about to crash. Now my computer runs better than it ever did. The folks at Onyx were also able to very quickly resolve some DSL/wireless connectivity problems I had spent hours trying to resolve. Justin, one of the owners, was very invested in making sure I was well taken care of. The service I received was very prompt, professional, and very reasonably priced. These are the guys I will consult if I need computer tech service again. I'm delighted to have another great business in downtown Decatur, and highly recommend them!

Despite the increasing number of Apple Stores and their willingness to service Apple Computers, it is worth noting the substantial value of services provided by independent companies such as Onyx. Onyx provided local repair for a damaged laptop with a MAJOR DIFFERENCE in customer service, price and turnaround. Although not all issues were discovered after initial pick-up, Onyx provided great support and follow-up service to isolate and repair problems making the laptop and its backed upped contents operational and accessible. Our company uses an increasing number of Apple laptops and it is important to know the ready-availability of more personalized support.
