I took a broken computer to them and got a broken computer back. Typically that wouldn't warrant a positive review but dealing with them was great. My business laptop went down and there were two things I needed: Speed and communication. I wanted to find out what the problem was, quickly. I paid the deposit and the extra amount for expedited service. I got 3 calls throughout the entire process which ended up taking a single business day. In the end the motherboard had failed and there wasn't much they could do that wouldn't cost more than a new unit. So, I'm bickering with HP but Onyx did what I needed them to do in the timely manner I paid extra for. That's my experience. Everybody I dealt with was nice and answered any questions I had. I don't know how long a repair would have taken or how much it would have ended up costing. However, when I run into computer issues in the future I will take it to Onyx with confidence that that matter is in good hands.

Onyx Consulting has been my vendor for almost 10 years. During that time, they have provided outstanding service- both from a knowledge and a customer service standpoint. They are honest, reliable, extremely knowledgeable, and very fairly priced. They are very well versed in both mac and pc platforms. They are always available and have fixed many issues after hours and on holidays. I would recommend Onyx to any customer, business or consumer.

Having used, very happily, Onxy, on several occasions for my Mac, I went one day announcing my very friendly service dog, not on a leash inside their business. She startled Matt, a tech, who raised his knee and foot at her to which she looked at him and wagged her tail. I, immediately apologized for not leashing her and thought we had worked through this, bought a product from Andrew. Since, Matt was very upset about my dog going up to him. (His family owns the same type of dogs, he informed me) Without raising my voice, I shared with Andrew my feelings and apologized that day to him for not having my friendly dog leashed. Going back in for later service, resulted in involving Justin, as I had unkowingly been flagged because of my dog and dealing with Matt. Sometimes, working through communication is viewed as wasted time; however, Justin and Andrew, and I worked through an awkward scenario. Good service and good communication is a great combination, that Onxy has achieved. We appreciate you all and the great work on my Mac; along with other products you sell. They are great in their service to me and my 'leashed dog'.

Apple MacBook Air screen broke at the hinges. Apple Store said it was covered then decided it was a dent, that i must have dropped it. Not true. They said it would cost $700. I took it to Onyx. They said they thought it might be a free fix, that Apple had recalled this model, the 'HINGES' were breaking. Dropped it off Monday, picked it up Thursday. FREE. i have a new computer. I'm good to go. THANKS to ONYX.

bought Apple computers and had Apples repaired at Onyx--always honest, always get it done, and have great relationship with Apple corporate. That relationship helped me greatly on one repair. I'm a loyal Onyx customer.

I heard from someone that these are the best, and I agree. By far the friendliest techs I've found. I was told I'd find not only friendly service, but the best prices, and yes, I sure did. Plus, they were extremely quick. Having a mac is sometimes difficult, because you can't just take the computer anywhere. I certainly don't trust places like Microcenter, and Apple stores are great, but they take a long time. So, I've found my new doctor for my mac.

They delivered excellent work within the estimated time. The employees are highly skilled, professional and polite. I have had 2 Windows computers repaired beyond my expectations (laptop and desktop). I would definitely return there for service.

First, I called them to get an idea of what my cost was going to be before I drove the 20+ miles to drop my system off. I gave them the brand (Dell) and model and told them exactly what was wrong (it needs a new power supply). He said that model uses different power supplies and he would have to see it. I drove the 20+ miles to drop it off. He laid the case on its side to remove the side cover (clueless). He confirmed he would have to order the power supply. Then he asked if I had the power cord. What? I have NEVER seen a computer repair facility that wanted me to supply a power cord. He offered to go ahead and check it in and I could bring in the power cord (yeah, ANOTHER 40+ mile round trip). THEN, he informed me that it would be 8 - 10 working days before they looked at it. When I explained that was unacceptable since this was my business computer, he offered expedited service for an additional $100. This place may be okay for Apple computers, but stay away from them with your windows based systems. I will be contacting Dell to verify if they are authorized to display the Dell logo on their website, which implies to me they are an authorized Dell repair facility.

This particular model requires a specific power conversion cord with a "brick" or "box" as part of the cord - similar to a laptop power supply. While we do carry a multitude of varying power converters, we did not have this particular one. It should be noted that this is the only Dell model of this kind that has ever come into either location in all our years of operation. We apologized for the inconvenience. The 8-10 day claim is a falsification. Last - all our technicians are cross-platform certified professionals. We perform a multitude of Microsoft-based or "Windows" repairs both in-shop and on-site with great success.
I used onyx on two occasions. I used the Chamblee location to get more memory added to my Apple Mac Mini. They were very friendly and did it on the spot at a price just $20 above the cost of the memory, if I had ordered it on the web. The 2nd time I used them, I went to Decatur. I had a PC which wouldn't start up. Ken looked at it immediately and quickly snapped the case back in place, fixing it at no charge. I would definitely use them again. George

Very quick, very informative and understanding. Much cheaper than the apple store. My only complaint would be how much money I spent, but I guess that's market value, so I can't complain. But $80 an hour for labor makes me wanna learn to fix computers.

I'm too embarrassed to say what my simple problem was. But I had a problem with my PC and the needed part. They swapped it out in 2 minutes and did not charge me a penny. Next time I have a real problem, I'm returning to Onyx.

I had a 15 year old flopy disk with a valuable manuscript on it. They were able to pull it off and convert to Microsoft Word file. Manuscript saved. Easy to deal with, professional. Thanks Drew.

I had a problem with my macbook though it was under warranty the macstore wouldnt fix it and they were going to charge me close to 900 dollars. Took it to onyx fixed it for less than 200. Worked great even took it back because another problem arose they fixed that problem free of charge. Better than the mac store plus they honor applecare.

Hi Justin, I just wanted to let you know that your guys did such a great job for me (Craig and Ken)! Here is my story: I got my new MacBook on Thurs (5/22/08) and spent all of Friday - Saturday configuring it to suit my needs. By Sunday evening someone dropped a bottle of water on it and it was dead! After being a little discouraged I managed to take it to the MAC Store in Perimeter the following week where the guy told me that the fix would be $750 to start, but perhaps I could call Onyx Consulting and they may be able to help at a cheaper price. Discouraged still I decided to completely take apart the MacBook to get it ready to sell on eBay. A week later I decided to check out your website, reviewed it and decided it was worth a shot before I started to sell the parts on eBay. I dropped it off a few days later on a Thurs. By Monday (6/11/08) I got a call telling me IT WAS ALIVE, THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, IT WAS STILL FULLY CONFIGURED W/ NO DATA LOSS, AND IF ANYTHING happened I had 90 days to come back! This all costs $80! Onyx told me it just needed to dry out, and tested everything to show it as working (Kent is great!). I can't describe how relieved & happy I am! Just wanted to say thanks, will do business again, will proudly wear Onyx T-shirt and send along referrals!
