Family owned business endorsed by celebrity Coach Dan Reeves who may actually be the family patriarch. Initially we were pleased with the sales pitch and customer service. We purchased mid price point aids. After they were fitted, my 87 year old father, a retired medical doctor, told them that they didn't work. This was repeated numerous times over a 2 year period. The Optimal Hearing s solution: you have to get used to wearing aids. The aids never worked. We returned twice for help, guidance and fittings, each time another family member was the technician manning the office. The aids were checked and cleaned but still never worked. The aids did not increase his ability to hear. At our last visit we were informed that the aids were broken, 90 days after the warranty expiration. Because they never really worked, and because you could count on one hand the number of times my Dad attempted to wear them, it was very hard to believe the aids were suddenly broken. In any event, Optimal's recommended solution, spend another $600 or 25% of the total cost to have them fixed or if that doesn't work, upgrade for an additional cost. The aids never worked and Optimal Hearing refused to accept any responsibility. The audacity to upsell on another pair of higher priced aids says it all. We'll cut our losses and find another provider.

Last year I bought my hearing aids there. I was told up front that due to my hearing test - it might take a few meeting to get them right. It did... it took more than four. However, Bill was wonderful and helped me. I could hear things I hadn't in years. Now, I think Bill must have left and that office fallen apart with it. No one ever returns messages. The office hours have been reduced and still no one is ever there. It is frustrating to no ends- especially with the product line they carry as few people can adjust them in this area. So, in short... if you can find Bill- he is wonderful, the audibel product is really good, everything else and i do mean everything is frustrating. nothing like a business that isn't available to their clients.

We apologize for the interruption in services. We now have a wonderful professional working full time in the Buckhead facility. Courtney is very busy and you will need to book an appointment to see her. Bill is happily working away in our Woodstock office. You may see him there.
If you have ever tried to purchase hearing aids, then I don't have to tell you how frustrating and confusing it can be! A friend recommended Optimal Hearing and I finally found honest people who had my best interests at heart. They did not try to pressure me into the most expensive hearing aid, but found something that fixed my problem without breaking my wallet. Now I send anyone who asks to Optimal Hearing Systems. I know they will be treated right!

I have had a hearing loss and worn hearing aids for over 30 years. I have never had hearing, hearing loss and hearing aids explained with such simplicity and clarity. I have worked with several different Optimal Hearing offices and I have had the exact same experience in each facility. These are people dedicated to helping those of us with a hearing loss.

After many years of hearing difficulty, I am finally hearing much better with the Virtue 12 hearing aids. I no longer need to read lips and no longer have to ask, "What did you say, or talk a little louder please."

I retired in 1990 as a mathematics teacher in the Atlanta Public School. As a first time hearing aid user I would highly recommend the Vitue 12"s. I am now able to hear better in church and at home. I can now watch TV with my family without them complaining that I have the TV too loud. I am able to participate in conversations with others with out having to ask them to repeat themselves.

While I hardly ever participate in forums like this, I felt obligated to share my family's wonderful experience with John Schellman of Optima Hearing on East Paces Ferry Road. My mother is 88 and has had hearing aids for over 35 years; however, her visits to Optima were by far the best. It is easy to see that John is a very caring person with a real gift for working with older people. My parents entered the office feeling very anxious and left with a life-long friend. We bought two new hearing aids, and she gave the most heart-warming smile that I have seen in many years. She can hear so much better and actually understands the treatment process because John was excellent in his explanations. My advice would be not to wait if you are contemplating an evaluation. The technology has advantaged tremendously, and unfortunately all hearing centers have not kept up with the times. My Mom's previous audiologist had not. The quality of life for our entire family has improved significantly, and Optima helped make it happen. In fact, I would rate John Schellman as one of the top three medical practitioners that I have known.

I have long been frustrated by my hearing difficulties and the limited abilities of hearing professionals to help me. That is until I responded to a newspaper ad and visited Optimal Hearing in Buckhead. Their hearing aids are the best I've ever used and the follow-up service and professionalism is unmatched.
