Orkin Pest & Termite Control

Orkin was my pest control company for the past two years in Austin Texas. I have paid Orkin thousands of dollars for service over this period to include termite service, squirrel removal service, mosquito service, and pest control. Orkin claimed to perform all of this work for me, but failed to complete the work correctly. I continued to have problems with squirrels and pests (scorpions, spiders, and such) and continually mentioned these problems to Orkin. In my most recent visit from Orkin (December 2011) I was informed that there were entry points into my house that squirrels were using and that these areas need to be blocked (which was supposedly done when I originally paid over $600 to have the squirrel problem fixed). When I was notified that the entry problem still existed I contacted Orkin and spoke with a manager about having the issue repaired. The manager told me the only option was to charge me a second time to perform the work I was told was completed the first time. The manager explained to me that the work originally performed seemed to be only partial due to the low fee (he actually thought $600.00 was a low fee) but could not say for sure as he was not the manager at the time of the original repair. He informed me that the only option I had was to have Orkin come back out, give me an estimate, and recharge me for the work. This is of course ridicules as Orkin should have performed the work correctly the first time or fixed any defect resulting from the first service. First of all, I am a disabled veteran from the United States Army and $600.00 is not a low fee, it is over half of what I receive in disability per month. Second, I work hard for my income and expect to receive proper service for the money I pay. Third, I have been a loyal customer to Orkin for over two years, spent thousands of dollars on them, and hoped to be treated fairly by the company. May 25, 2010 We did the inspection and the inspector said we had a rat infestation in the attic, and cricket & red ant infestation outside and no more than an inch or two of insulation in the attic with possible wood rot as well. Turns out out we never had rats or wood rot. We decided to have Orkin put the insulation in since it contains bug killer and we were using Orkin for a termite bond and pest service, they only finished 1/2 of the insulation job, thinking I wasn't going to check on their work and go into the attic. Well I did, there was insulation by the stairwell to the attic entrance and as I walked mid way through there was nothing just the underside of the drywall for the ceiling! I took pictures for evidence. Called my inspector back, Rafael Medina from South Daytona,FL. 611 Beville Rd. 32119. Office: 386-761-5810. He says he has transferred to a different department and can't help me with the situation, he just blew me off. Makes me wonder if they even pumped termite chemicals in my foundation or if they just drilled holes, filled them with quick set and charged me for the service? I am going to file a police report, get a lawyer and sue for damages. Canceling all services today. DON'T TRUST ORKIN!!!!!!

Please do not call this company without buyig a jar of vaseolie frist. I had to pay $85.00 for four sticky pads. There higley trained Tech. walked around my home like he had some where esle to go and I was on his time. He sprayed some stuff that was use less and said thank you have a nice day. You are better off going to the dollar store than calling them. Patricia Garcia
