We spent a substantial sum with Rick and his firm in landscaping our North Fulton home. We had several quotes (many were much lower cost) from other contractors but chose Rick due to his stated commitment to quality, warranty, and follow-though. Although his initial landscape work was very aesthetically pleasing, we had several quality problems with the subcontractors he had hired. After work was completed, we discovered several problems that he reviewed and, in all cases, blew them off as being non-issues. This included plants visibly dying, seeping water, and wet spots throughout the areas intended to have drainage improved. His follow-through on several bothersome warranty issues has been non-existent. On one occasion, he blew off meeting with us at our home-- only to drive past him 30 minutes later standing with a drink in his hand in front of 'Pure'. We tried calling him immediately and he wouldn't take our call. My husband nearly confronted him there on the spot. Ultimately, we hired another contractor to fix the irrigation and drainage problems rather than continue to try and force Rick to follow-through. Worse, we have had several neighbors tell us that they too have had the same issues with Outside Landscape Group. Carefully read the recommendations below with a skeptical eye. Pay attention to the number of postings, language used, and posting frequency of those making recommendations. Buyer beware.

Rick's price was competitive, but it was how he presented himself and his company that made me choose him. He has a portfolio of lovely photos of completed work, and his website, including impressive testimonials, is top-notch, showing before-and-after photos and details of his outstanding work. For me, Rick overlaid an existing concrete patio with gray crab orchard stone and created an extension of it, complying with my request to select stones with as much color variety as possible. To do that, in addition to the pallets he purchased, he used darker stones from his own inventory. I cannot say enough good things about Rick's crew. Foreman Osmin and workers Jose and Alfredo were prompt, worked very hard, smiled a lot, and were personable and professional. I am pleased to have photographically documented almost every step of the process because it shows perfectionists at work. Toward the end, every time I thought the job was over, I found them performing yet another step to make the finished patio as beautiful as it could be. Also, before they left after the first day and upon completion, they cleaned up the back yard very well. They deserve to be proud of the outstanding job they did. And Rick is to be commended for not charging for some extras that he found desirable to make me completely happy. I have other projects on my wish list, and Outside Landscape will get the jobs as soon as I get the money for them.

I could not be happier with the work that Rick and his crew completed. Our backyard was an overgrown eyesore and Rick put together a plan that provided our children a safe place to play for years to come. He also put together a plan for the front of the house that utilized some of the existing plants and rounded out the concept w/ some new plants. The quality of the work was great and the job site was cleaned upon completion. I would definitely use them again.

Outside Landscape Group just completed a second project at our home and once again they exceeded expectations. Unlike a lot of other contractors, when Outside Landscape Group finishes a project they take the time to really clean up behind themselves. Everything was blown and hosed as needed. Even during the project, they take the time to lay out plastic on the lawn to protect it from the dirt they are digging. It's that sort of attention to detail that really sets them apart in my mind. The project looks awesome and the cleanliness of the yard is better than it was before they got there. The project they did came out better than I could have anticipated. I would highly recommend Outside Landscape Group.

Rick and company were great up to the point of sale then fell of the grid when we started having issues with their work. We paid a ton of money to work with Rick and company and that should come with superior after sales service. I think he is a very good landscape designer and can truly put together a nice visual landscape plan but his achilles heal is dealing with some of his subcontractors and follow up service items.

We have used Rick and his crew for two projects and have been very pleased. They are a very professional group. Rick lestens to what your vision is and works up a plan within your budget. The work crews are punctual, neat, courteous and respectful. We would, and have, recommended this firm to friends and neighbors.

We have used this company for two different projects and would use them again. Our backyard looked like a soccer field, all grass and basic builder shrubs and pinestraw. When Outside was finished it looked like a park. Ric and Doug were a pleasure to work with. They kept to the budget we gave them, and gave us wonderful suggestions. The crews showed up on time and cleaned up everyday.

We were novices to the Georgia landscape market and really needed a company with the ability to provide us with insight and vision for our neglected front and rear yards which were being renovated at the same time our home was also undergoing significant repairs. Rick was our point person and I was immediately both comfortable and impressed by his vision, professionalism and abiltiy to articulate his ideas. This was our first experience with "professional landscape design and installation" so I must admit I experienced major sticker shock at first and needed to modify our initial expectations for front and rear yard landscaping. He made it very clear that his bid would not be on the low end, but that we would definitely get what we paid for. And I have not regretted this investment for a single day since. His crew was awesome, punctual, polite, pleasant and definitely cleaned up daily until job was finished. Rick and his crew worked well alongside other contractors (general, lighting, irrigation)and it seemed seamless at the time. Rick was also very willing to develop a full plan and do phased installation. I only wish we had a windfall at this point to invite him back out to finish the rear yard, put in the pond, fireplace, outdoor kitchen, etc referenced by another satisfied client!

We chose this company over several others. We could tell that Rick had the vision, education, and experience to do our job. He produced several plans & listened to what we wanted to make the perfect plan for us. Then his workers did a first class job to turn over 30 tons of stone, 3 cement trucks full of concrete, and I can't even tell you how many trees, bushes , and flowers into a thing of beauty. They were always on time, neat, friendly, and hard workers. When they left every day our yard was left spotless( my wife wishes they were still there working). Where before we had a hilly back yard that we seldom used, we now have an outside kitchen, hot tub, fire pit, koi pond with waterfall, stone steps, walk- ways and seating areas. Now we have our own paradise that we are using all the time. It is all fenced in with a nice black fence and our dog Pete gives it all a " paws up" for a great place to play and run and be with us. Rick came back to go over with us about the care of the plants and pruning. While he was there he noticed a place in the stone border that he was not happy with and he felt might give future problems, so he sent his crew back over to dig it out & pour a foundation to fix the problem. The accent lighting and irrigation systems are also first class and add to the beauty of the whole yard. Our friends and neighbors are simply amazed at the yard now. We could not be any happier with the whole project. Ralph and Kim

I was extremely happy with Outside Landscape Group. The owner provided a wonderful design plan, after finding out all of my needs. His crew showed up on time (even early), and they were friendly and very professional. They expanded my driveway and built a patio and garden area. Everything was done to perfection, and they met with me afterward to make sure I knew how to maintain my garden. The price was right, and so was the service.

I struggled with what rating to give Outside Landscape Group. Probably they deserve somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. I thought the firm did an average -- not great -- job clearing out my poorly maintained and overgrown back yard and replacing it with a good landscape pursuant to a plan. But there were some weak spots: 1. I paid a significant amount of money (>$10,000) but any 'extras' were not included (I asked for a rain barrel, which are pretty cheap). I think most firms would have tossed that in for no extra fee considering the amount of business I was giving them. 2. The sod work was sloppy in my opinion. Poor quality sod and also there are now old flowers / plants growing through in certain places. 3. A general feeling I had was that the product (a new backyard) was 'sold' and less emphasis was placed on service delivery and follow-up. For example, I was not really given any guidance on how to maintain some of the new landscaping. On a positive note, I thought the firm's contact person was good to work with. Overall: I just thought spending over $10,000 would result in a bit more care and attention. BTW- the other two reviews here look fake. Buyer beware!

I have used this company for three design and installation projects in my landscape. They are very professional and provide an excellent service. They listen to your wants and needs and make everything happen. I would highly recommend this company for your next landscape project.

Outside Landscape Group implements Green Waste which separates organic material from the non-organic waste. This material is then recycled into our hardwood mulch which we use as a material on our projects. We also use asphalt millings in our storage yard which is recycled asphalt which is pervious and promotes rain water into the soil. We use recycled materials whenever possible and our office recycles and is green friendly. We also use green friendly practices when installing projects.
