Hard to imagine gay Atlanta without this excellent bookstore/coffee house. It almost has a community center feel to it, more than just a store. Bright, airy, good stock, smart staff, lots of good book-signings.

Outwrite bookstore is literally at the center of the super hot Midtown neighborhood and the customer base proves it. Thought largely catering to a gay crowd, the bookstore offers a wide variety of cook books, coffee table books, funny books, etc. It's not all gay romance novels. They also snare great national speakers and writers for readings and book signings. Also great coffee and snacks. If you find yourself at the corner of 10th and Piedmont (and almost everyone in Atlanta will at some point) stop in an look around.
