I brought in a couple of dresses to be hemmed. I expected them to be $15 or less a piece, but they were $16 and $18. When I returned two days later, one of the dresses had been CUT but not hemmed. When I noticed this, I was told they thought that was what I wanted. "You think I paid $16 for you to cut the dress and leave a raw edge?!" I was told to wait 20 minutes - this was upsetting because I needed to get ready for a wedding. When I returned, the dress had been sewn with a single line instead of a double like the other dress. I was not offered a discount for my stress or for the inconvenience. Not a great first impression.

I've used Oxford Cleaners for dry cleaning and I'm always happy with their work. I did ask about alterations the last time I was in and their prices seemed quite high. They wanted $20 to raise the hem on one curtain panel that was made out of a sheer cotton material! Since I had 10 panels I needed shortened I went elsewhere for this project.
