Saved my dog's life, 8/09/2012

Dr. Merritt and the rest of the staff not only performed life saving surgery on my lab mix, they also showed the utmost care and compassion for my dog. When I went in for the initial visit, I was... shown to the exam room within 10 minutes of arriving at the office and Dr. Merritt came in shortly thereafter to see my dog. X-rays and examinations ensued and it became apparent that immediate surgery would be necessary because the dog's intestines were twisted so badly that the blood circulation had been completely cut off. After the surgery and throughout the recovery process, Dr. Merritt and the staff showed great kindness to my dog as well as to me personally. Words don't do justice to how grateful I am to all of the people who helped keep my dog alive

Love this Clinic--Great with Cats!!!, 8/09/2012

I have been going to Paces Ferry for several years. I have 6 cats of varying temperaments and they are very patient with all of them. Recently, one of my cats objected to being cleaning up after... she went to the bathroom in her carrier. She turned into a hissing, clawing fur-ball of death, and they were very nice to her and actually apologized for not being to send her home perfectly cleaned. Dr. Merritt is my usual vet and I love her. She is wonderful with my cats and makes every effort to keep my neurotic kids at ease. I have also seen the other vets at the clinic and they are all great. I can say the same for the vet techs and front desk staff. Everyone is friendly and helpful. This clinic offers optional services besides basic exams and shots, but they are not pushy about them, like I have experienced in the past. They ask a full range of questions at the office visit about the petís recent behavior, food, etc. and really listen to any concerns. The physical exam is very thorough, and when a couple of my cats were overweight they politely explained the health dangers and gave me advice I used to reduce their weight. They have also seen me on a busy Saturday for a sick cat when they were fully booked, staying past closing. The service and care we receive at Paces Ferry is well worth every penny.

Dr. Whittle is Amazing

I was 9 months pregnant and we realized that our dog was having accidents in the house. Originally we suspected that she knew the baby was coming but brought her to be checked just in case. As it turned out she had a large bladder stone and would require surgery. We had been delaying a knee surgery for her due to the pregnancy but this could not wait. Dr. Whittle was amazing, he took care of both surgeries at once, providing the best care we could have ever imagined and he even offered to watch her while we were in the hospital with the baby. I'll never take my Molly anywhere else, I only hope to find a pediatrician with as much compassion as he has for dog.

Fantastic Staff and High Quality Care

My husband and I love Dr. Whittle and the staff at the Paces Ferry Vet. Since transferring there from another vet, we've had to consider surgery for our rottweiler. Dr. Whittle was very patient, knowledgable and kind as he discussed options. He was easy to reach by phone for further discussion, and has made us feel that the health of our pets is really, truly important to him. I'm confident that everyone there has our pets' best interest in mind, and we're very pleased with the care they've received. We've found that prices are in line or lower than other vets, especially the surgery prices.

My Problem was Fixed.

I was charged for services that I was not aware would be additional to the normal office visit fee. However, I explained the problem I was having with this lack of disclosure and Paces Ferry made things right and reimbursed me for these additional services. I am very thankful that they took the time to listen to my concerns and fix the problem.

Do NOT bring your cat

I am new to Atlanta and came in for a complementary meet and greet as I was considering this practice for my Devon Rex Cat. After explaining that I had a sensitive, easily tramatized cat, I acknowledge that we were early and asked for a room as soon as possible because the waiting room was full of dogs, most of which were barking. I offered to take her outside if that was not possible, but I was assured it would not be more than a few minutes. During the next hour, I told 2 staff members (one twice) that we'd been waiting and asked for a room but was ignored. During this time, they took at least 15 dogs and waited on countless other people...while my cat sat there shaking in her crate, terrified while dogs came to sniff it. After an hour, I walked out. If this is how they treat someone considering their practice, I can only imagine the service later. Every vet I've ever met has understood that stress is as harmful to cat as an illness. Obviously, this office didn't know that or just did care. I would not recommend them and will not be returning.

Finally Gave Up on This Vet

After 2 years we had to finally find a new vet. The waits are consistently long, prices too high and service poor. My mother took our dog in for a skin rash, and they gave her the same shots that she had on her prior visit. When we called to question it, they did not even offer a refund! We found better service and quality at half the price in Marietta. I would suggest you look elsewhere for quality pet care.

Thank you PFVC

I own a dog boarding facility and a dog became ill. I contacted the dogs regular vet and they were "too busy" to see the very sick dog. Plus they would be closing at noon and 'didn't want to get stuck' with a potential time consuming problem. I called Dr. Merritt and told her the dogs problem, we had exhausted our efforts to help him and she agreed he needed to be seen by a vet. She never hesitated to help that dog. We are both very grateful! Thank you!

I LOVE THIS VET!

I recently started taking my dog to PFVC, and it's wonderful. The doctors are top notch and seem to really care for my pup and how she is feeling. They genuinely listen to you as an owner when you think something is wrong with your baby. Love them!

Wonderful Veterinary Clinic

Over a month ago, my cat was very sick, I had brought him to another vet first who was unable to diagnose him after lots of tests and hundreds of dollars. I was recommended by a friend to take my cat here. I brought him there, and immediately was called by Dr Fann with a diagnosis and a treatment plan. She and Dr Cary called me every day with updates on my cat without me even having to call them. The service was exceptional. I took my cat home, sadly he did not make it in the end, but not due to their lack of care and service. It was his time. When they found out he passed, they sent me a nice book and words of encouragement. I will bring all of my other cats there from now on. I was so impressed by their knowledge, follow up, and wonderful care of my cat. I know in his last days, he was treated very well, and I have these wonderful vets to thank.

Best Veterinary Care in Atlanta

Dr. Whittle has been treating my animals since the day he got out of vet school and I have had nothing but wonderful experiences for the past 20+ years. They are thorough with their exams and extremely caring in the way they treat the animals who go there. Over the course of years, I have seen Dr. Merritt, Dr. Cary and Dr. Fann as well and have found them all to be excellent vets who really care about their clients! I highly recommend Paces Ferry to anyone within driving distance! They have two locations and they are worth a little extra drive if that's what it takes to get there. I pass three other vets on my way to their office! :) As a side note, their generosity is amazing. I know that they do a ton of charity work for local animal rescues and I know these organizations would not function without their help. They play a critical role in placing healthy animals into good homes!

Amazing vets who REALLY love animals!

I couldn't say enough positive things about this place! The vets are all SO knowledgable and always treat your animal as their own. Dr. Whittle is my vet and I wish I would have had him as my vet for my 2 Boxers from the very start. Amazing people, amazing vets, enough said!

Dr. Cary is fantastic!

My dog is HIGH STRUNG, and Dr. Cary and staff are incredibly patient with him. They are thorough and helpful. Everyone in the office follows through with what they tell you. Also, there is little to no pressure for retail that you get at some places.

My replacement child deserves only the best

I love these folks. I've shared my life with more than a couple best friends and I wish they all had the enefit of being cared for by these folks. I have had visits with each Dr. in the office and the focus is the same: my baby's welfare, a friendly face and appointments that run on time. Not to mention they do a lot of work on behalf of rescue groups. Good people.

Truly Amazed at their Generosity...

A few years ago I found a stray cat that was hurt in my neighborhood and immediately took him to PFCV and told them what little I did know. During his recovery, I fell in love with his timid nature and asked if I could adopt him. Because he was a stray, they recommend shots and neuturing also. In my mind the $$$ was adding up quickly. After speaking with the dx, he stated that because I was helping to rescue a stray that he would work with me regarding the final bill. Several days later I walked out of the clinic with a healthy happy cat. I will always recommend PFCV because of their kindness and their professional dedication to animals.
