Seriously amazing and unique!, 9/09/2010

This is a great place for the stationary/gift-wrap/card/writing obsessed. What I like most, is their selection of off the shelf invitations and notecards, which they will print same day or... personalize for you in just a few days at the most. And I cant rave enough about the friendly staff. I have purchased a lot of paper and writing accessories over the years from Parchment, and I followed them here when they moved from Westlake Boulevard. Some of the stings I love the most are their custom gift wraping (too pretty to open sometimes!), wax seals (and wax), and handmade/unique cards [not the cheesy ones you get at the carwash or a hallmark]. I have always been very pleased.\r\rThe store is moderate to pricey, and for someone who loses pens constantly, I'm not ready to commit to an expensive pen (but they have some for as little as $10 going up to $500, and the $10 are perfect for a scatterbrain like me). If you're looking for a special gift, they have some amazing one of a kind stuff on the higher end - but if you are looking for thank you gifts or teacher gifts you can usually find something at a reasonably price ( like $20ish) . A note though -- the store is not pricey due to it's location or willingness to rip you off; rather, I think they tend to carry good quality products, and their prices are consistent with other similar stores that I've gone to.\r\rThis place also does custom invitations and calligraphy - which is a dying art, if you ask me. Not sure of their prices in that regard, but might be worth checking out if you need the service

Unfortunate experience, 9/03/2010

Parchment was a great place - the gold standard in Westlake - for fine stationery and beautiful gifts. Unfortunately, I did not realize the new owner does not live up to the reputation of the old... owner with exceptional service. Terrible customer service, the printing of my announcement was laughable and the owner felt it was good enough. She even hung up on me. Others have said the place is a mess now.

LOVE this place!

They work with you on whatever you need and are always accommodating. I've bought invitations, stationary and their hand calligraphy and was happy every single time.
