Great food and location, 8/03/2014

My husband and friends recently ate here. The location is great! We love Decatur. We had reservations so we were seated immediately. The server was attentative and on point. The food was really good... as well. We had flank steak with the lobster mac and cheese. For an appetizer we had the goat cheese stuffed dates and they were good as well. My only complaint was the drinks. I hardly drink except when I go out. I like sweeter drinks. I asked for the most girlie drink on the menu and it was not girly at all. I tried my husbands and my friends drink as well and they were all extremely strong. If you like strong drinks then you're good but it just wasn't my thing. For dessert we had the bread pudding which was awesome! As far as price, it was moderately priced for a steak house.

Delicious food!, 10/11/2011

I had a coupon from half off depot, so my BF and I tried it out. We had great service (got there around 730 on a Friday and were seated right away. Crowd came around 8ish). Food was delicious -... onion soup YUM. The porterhouse for two was fantastic as well, and the mac and cheese is really great. Overall, a fun date night! Oh, we also each ordered a glass of wine, and they really gave a healthy serving. I would say there were really two servings in my glass, which is nice when it's $6+ a glass.

Refreshingly Refined Steakhouse

We were pleasantly surprised by Parker's. While we found ourselves drawing a few parallels to the old Mick's, Parker's proved itself to be superior due to the quality of their product and the standard by which they present it. We felt like we were enjoying a custom-tailored dining experience at a 5 star restaurant without the stuffiness or high prices. We started with the fried green tomatoes topped with pesto & goat cheese. The flavors blended flawlessly into a heavenly tanginess. We split the 32 oz Porterhouse with sides of mac & cheese & merlot mushrooms. The beef was cooked to perfection & the sides were scrumptious. Our first date in Atlanta was at this location when it was Mick's, so this was a wonderful way to sort of revisit that. We will definitely go back, but I think next time for lunch to try their salads and other starter options.

Excellent Steak and Service

The steak was cooked to perfection and was very flavorful, and the wait staff was attentive. Also....a great bar.

Good local bar + steak

If you are local to Decatur, you cannot help but notice there are more pubs than real bars... places where you can get a good cocktail. I think Parkers fills the niche of an upscale place to have a cocktail and steak instead of a beer and burger. It's one notch better than the local Ted's Montana Grill, which is just down the block. I recently ate and drank at Parkers. It was a crowded, pre-Christmas night. We got seats at the bar and also ordered food (steak) to the bar. Top-notch bar service. The steak (ribeye) and baked potato were good. Not outstanding, but well cooked and not greasy.

Try the house salad with steak

This salad is $13 and takes the place of a full steak meal without the carbs, so it is very healthy. Try it with a glass of red wine. The original chocolate mousse was dark and thick and wonderful, Unfortunately they changed the recipe and made it fluffy so I was forced to switch to the Bananas Foster cheesecake. One of the owners is always on site and will do whatever it takes to make you happy (i.e. warm up the temperature, turn down the music. The outside patio is great to watch the people of Decatur stroll by.

Great little place in downtown Decatur

I am not sure when Parkers opened, it is where Micks used to be. Really nice job remodeling the space. Service is very good and the food is outstanding. Try the steak salad, it has got to be the best in Atlanta! Nice selection of wines, I recommend the Charles Smith Syrah.. really good with some beef. They do a very nice job here!
