Absolutely appalling behavior from a "manager"., 3/03/2010

I have visited this store exactly twice. The first time I observed (whom I later discovered to be) the manager belittling a staff member in front of customers, to the point that the staff member was... nearly in tears. The second time, I was in the store and they were blaring country music so loud that I couldn't hear myself think. I honestly just thought about leaving because I was getting a headache, but then decided that if it were my store, I would want the chance to retain a customer's business, so I approached the cash register and asked if the music could be turned down. The same manager as before became verbally assaultive toward me, asking me "do you do this everywhere you go???" (no, that was the first time I had been at a store that had the poor sense to blare country music so loud that customers wanted to leave). I decided that I didn't want to patronize a business where the manager treated the customers and employees this way, and have boycotted all Patti's Hallmark stores since.
