Patwa Bar & Grill

Patwa Bar & Grill has some of the best Jamaican food I have ever tasted. Ever since they opened, I have been there every day for their lunch special curry goat. The staff is very friendly and almost immediately you feel at home. The jerk pork is a "must have," and I won't even describe the delicious pepper-pot soup. Try Patwa, and I guarantee you won't stop going there. This is the absolute best Jamaican restaurant in Atlanta.

When you visit you MUST be sure to order a heaping platter the most deliciously seasoned, divinely flavored curry goat. This in my opinion is Cook Hortence’s absolutely best dish…except for her homemade Jamaican style tropical fruit punch! In fact, all the home made fruit drinks they serve are great, and they even let you throw in a little BYO (rum) to mix. The tastes take you right back to the sunny shores of Jamaica! This is definitely a great Jamaican spot. After two mouthfuls, it’s like “NO Problem Mon! “
I should also add that unlike many West Indian restaurants, where the wait staff can have big attitudes, I found this restaurant’s wait staff to be courteous, friendly and very helpful. With its easy, cheerful, warm and inviting ambiance, Caribbean music, or easy listening jazz, the place is great for casual get together, romantic dates; business meetings or family outings. The appetizers are delicious and varied. Whole steamed red snapper or Tilapia, tasty and fresh. Red snapper brown stew ranks with jerk chicken as one of the two most often ordered items on the menu. The stew is a showstopper: fillets or the whole fish smothered in a sizzling melange of green peppers, onions, tomatoes and a spicy brown sauce. (Customers can get the same dish with chicken or grouper.) You can also order whole fish fried juicy and crisp.

I have been to many other Caribbean restaurants in the past, and so far, this one is THE BEST! The food was ssooo delicious!! I live in Sandy Springs and it was well worth the drive to Stone Mountain. Folks, I actually ended up buying two dinners instead of one! Try them and who knows, PATWA BAR AND GRILL might become an addiction!!
