You would think with all the competition out there in the auto part industry that stores like Pep Boys and Napa would be bending over backwards for the customers. Not so much here. Stood at the register for 5 minutes with 9 things in my buggy. After no one wanted to check me out, I just left. Good Job Pep Boys, Way to take care of your customers.

I took my car in for the brake pads and rotors to be replaced, to have the tires rotated and an alignment done. I was advised that they wouldn't have the time to do the alignment and rotors (after I had made an appointment) because the shop closed in an hour and a half and it would take that long to do the brakes and rotors. Ok, I understand that, however, they called me 30 minutes early because the car was done. Really? When I picked up my car and started driving it, I could hear what sounded like metal grinding on metal. I stopped and called them just to be advised that there was nothing they could do about it tonight. Really? They work on my car, screw it up and won't fix it? When I've already told them I need it to get to work tomorrow? Then the guy says I can have it towed there? No, I don't think so. They will resolve the issue, and I'll make sure I never, ever take it - or any of my other vehicles- back to ANY Pep Boys, nor will I ever buy anything from them again.

Pep Boys helped me fix an electric motor and saved me $300 I would have spent on a new one. I see some of the other reviews posted here, so I thought I should add a positive experience for a change. Granted, this is not about a car. I called this Pep Boys location to see if they could help me press some new bearings onto my failed pool pump motor. They were very friendly and helpful on the phone. The mechanic had a good attitude and did the job fast. And, they surprised me by not charging anything (I provided the new bearings).

I had my car towed to pep boys on 020207, they never called and told me what was wrong with the car, on 020307 I called to find out what was going on, I got disconnected and when I called back I was put on hold; finally someone came on the phone and told me it was my distributor and I needed an oil change, I authorized the work at 12noon. I received a call from the manager at 4:30pm saying it was not the distributor it was the computer engine, now take it they supposedly did a no start diagnostic on my car when they said it was the distributor. One week later I purchased my computer per their diagnosis and spent 300, took it to them for them to put it on, after they had my car thurs, all day friday, and saturday, they said after they put the computer its not that now its the engine cylinders. They diagnosed my car wrong twice and I spent money on a part that I would not have brought if I had known in the beginning that it was the engine, they are not efficient, I paid them over 400 within a week and my car still doesn't work, in fact it is in worst shape now than before. When I took my car in it wouldn't crank, but everything else worked on the car, now my car will crank but it shakes really bad and when you switch gears it cuts off and to top it off they tried to say someone else had been working on the car and put something in wrong, when they were the only ones that had worked on it. I will never go to pep boys ever again!!!!

Not only did they charge me for unecessary work [confirmed by another repair shop], but they didn't fix the original problem. In fact, my car had more problems when I picked it up than when I dropped it off. If you have to use them-- and I hope you don't-- make them actually show you the damaged parts, etc.

Pep Boys quickly diagnosed the problems with my van, called me to discuss them at length and completed the necessary repairs by the same evening. Since several major repairs were needed, they were willing to negotiate a little on their quote which saved me $60. I'm certain that the repairs would have cost hundreds more at the dealership. I will defintly use this shop again.

I had to get my alternator replaced. It took them 3 hours to get get the part from the warehouse and then they ruined my battery without even realizing it. When they said it was finished the car would not start. They had "killed" my battery. They did put in a new battery at no charge after I complained.
