I experienced the pushiest upsell ever when I went to Pep Boys. I don't believe that they were being honest about the tires I needed as I found great Michelins elsewhere for less. They kept emphasizing what a great deal they were giving me, but I resisted and kept shopping. I'm glad I did. As far as service goes, they get the job done, but I've had better service for less at many shops, including dealerships.

Being on a limited budget, I usually shy away from big name retailers when looking for service on items I don't understand as thoroughly (though I would consider myself fairly competent in the automotive field). In short, I can't afford to be robbed. My experience here with the service department was exceptional -- They were friendly and very fast. They made no attempt to sell me on unnecessary services and I actually ended up getting a different service than my initial intent, which was actually less expensive. Honesty and expediency gets you a 5/5 from me. I would do business here again.

Pep Boys has just about any and everything you need. if your going there to buy just one thing that you need and need that only i suggest you bring just enounh money for that only. if not you will find yourself walking out with much more than that. the service isn't that great, but other than that its a great place to get the parts you need

Pep Boys has all sorts of cool and neat gadgets. It seems I always bring home something new when I stop in. Service is slow for something behind the counter though. I enjoy looking at their weekly mailings.
