Pep Boys Auto Parts, Tires and Service

I took my brand new chevy corvette to pepboys because I ran over a nail and it was stuck in my tire. They said they had to replace the tire because it was in the side wall and could not repair it. So ok I can understand that but the sales guy said "the only tire we have in stock for your car is this one, and it's $1560 dollars plus mounting and balancing". So I bought the tire because I'm rich and when the mechanic was driving it in, he hit the gas and ran my car backwards through the store glass windows, blowing out my other rear tire so I had to buy another $1560 dollar tire so I did because I'm very rich, and they wanted me to fix the damage to the front of the store because my car was too fast for what the mechanic was used to. So I said no way, Jose (and his name was Jose which I thought was funny) so he let it go. When my car was in the work area for the new tires, my new 2011 Corvette started on fire and was fully engulfed in flames and thus ruined. I asked the manager what happened and he said that the mechanic was smoking and he coughed and his cigarette landed in some gas and lit my car on fire and he wanted me to reimburse the mechanic for his cigarette. I said "Hell no, you are the one that owes me one buddy" so he gave me a few coupons for oil changes for when I get a new car which I purchased right away because I have a lot of money. So I brought my new brand new Lotus in the next day for one of my free oil changes and when they went to drive it in, they ran into a brick wall and the entire cement ceiling collapsed, crushing my car like a pancake and killing the mechanic and some other customers. So now I have a new Porsche 911 and I'm never going back to pepboys.

My dad purchased a battery 2 years ago. It was defective (not holding a charge) My dad passed away. My mom went back to Pep Boys to get a credit, even partial credit to buy a new battery. Manager says NO. Only the principal purchaser can get credit. She brought the death certificate. Manager still says no on partial credit. Battery is suppose to last 5 to 7 years. She goes to Costco. They provide a credit and discount on a new battery. We are telling all of friends/relatives/neighbors to boycott Pep Boys on Genesee. Manager is inhuman. With this economy, I guess they don't need to keep customers. We had been clients for more than 15 years.

I was amazed and so lucky to find
these folks open on July 4th, when
my battery went dead and I was stuck
in a parking lot. After I got a jump
start I went right over there and I
was out in less then 25 minutes with
a newly installed battery at a very
reasonable price. Nice people, too.

I always have to wait at this Pep Boys, whether to drop off oil, get my oil changed, or purchase something. But that being said, I've never walked out of there empty-handed because they always have what I need.

They screw up the alarm of my car and the locking system and now they are asking me to pay them to repair it! It took me 3 trips to their store and almost 20 hours total to have my brakes done correctly (they were making noise every time). The last time I went, they finally got the brakes right BUT they screw up my alarm and now they are asking me to pay them to repair it! GREAT DEAL! May be a bit cheaper at first but considering all the time I spent there and the fact that now I need to spend $200 to repair the alarm, I can guarantee that pep boys in Genessee is not a good deal. And the manager is everything but a good manager! Instead of apoligizing for their screw ups (3 trips for breaks and almost 20 hours is a bit too much!) then the alarm, well instead of that he was talking to me as if i was an idiot. Great customer service!
