Performing Imports

When I got my BMW in 07, the first place I took it was Performing Imports. I knew that I could trust them with my new car and that they would do a great job. I now take my car to Performing Imports for all necessary tune-ups and oil changes. They are very efficient and provide friendly service. I would definitely recommend them to anyone with a BMW - they treat your car as if it were their own.

This place is strictly for high end BMW work (Motorsport models outside of warranty). Typical customers may find this place overpriced . . . I recently spent $189 for a simple oil change, nothing else. On previous visits, they had misdiagnosed an issue for me. People I know swear by their work, but I've had mediocre at best experiences with 2 cars on a couple occassions.

There simply is no equal to PI for BMW service. I've been using them since purchasing a used BMW 2000 328ci and I could not be happier. The shop is full of highly skilled technicians who are BMW enthusiasts as well and the care with which they service and maintian my car is superior to any dealership experience I have ever known. I routinely recommend PI to other BMW owners and friends and not a one has come back with a complaint. On the contrary, they typically are WOWED by PI. To be sure there are lower cost service providers in the area but then again you get what you pay for. With PI I drive away knowing the work has been done right the first time for the price quoted and with OEM parts. If you own a BMW you need to at least give PI a try. I am certain you won't be disappointed.

Not the cheapest shop on the planet, but Ron is top notch and will stand behind his work. He will tell you what NEEDS to be done and let you make the call. Thanks Ron!

I walked into this shop with a perfectly running car. I left $1500 dollars lighter and highly disappointed. Here's my story. Immediately after the service, my car developed strange symptoms. My gas mileage dropped like a rock. My mileage, for a '99 BMW 528i, dropped to less than 22mpg highway. I developed a tapping sound in the transmission when the car is in park or neutral or during de-acceleration. I returned and spoke with the owner several times about the problem. I even recorded the tapping sound with my mp3 player. He listen and offered an explanation. I was not satisfied with his speculation on the root cause. I'm not on par with his level of mechanical expertise but am more than capable of understanding a conversation re automotive repair. His assessment did not set well with me. I am not happy with this establishment and will not return to them for any type of automotive repair. I took my car to another independent BMW shop and they straightened out my gas mileage. I will just have to live with the embarassment of the tapping sound in my transmission. It does not occur often but it is embarassing when it emanates from very well cared for automobile.
