'An Oasis of Calm...", 8/29/2013

...Okay, so I lifted the title from their website-but it's hard to think of a better description. You know a place is special when you pull up (after traversing the harrowing terrain of Roswell... Road-AT 285!) walk in the door, and instantly feel the transformation. I don't if it's the Official Metaphysical Bookstore Scent (what IS that combo, anyway? Patchouli and Nam Champa? Myrhh?) Maybe it's the friendly staff, or the incredible selection of books, gemstones and temptations; maybe it's the quality of the workshops, book signings, and classes,,,Hands down, it's my favorite store in town!

beware rude staff, 11/09/2009

I was majorly disappointed. I don't know what has happened to this place. I had fond memories of the store and was very excited to stop by when I was in town. The store seems cluttered and unkempt... with dust-balls everywhere. The poor cats seem horribly ill and there are actually puke spots and cat hair about the place! Also, something definitely seemed 'off' there. Most of the staff don't seem to be very knowledgeable about what they are selling and will rudely refer you to 'read some books' if you try to ask questions. It is very obvious that several of them do not want to be there and have contempt for the customers. I just happened to be around at closing and it seems if you are not promptly out the door at 8pm on the dot you get a nasty stare and a harsh reminder that 'WE ARE CLOSING NOW!!' I was appalled by this horrible experience and I will definitely not be back. I used to shop there only for the atmosphere as the place is not cheap, and that seems to be dying there sadly...I can only guess that they are already on the way out or don't care enough to try and make customers feel welcome, its a shame. May as well save some money and shop online...
