Simply put,if I was not present, my family member would have died. Dr. Jeremy Collins in the E.D waiting area informed us that even though my family member had serious life threatning concerns, due... to the over capacity, my family member could not be accomadated and stated that Piedmont doesn't like to loose "business" to another competitor. My family member's life was totally disregarded. Seating was gone in the ER waiting area, someone came out and announced that the wait would be hours. Patients test results were being mixed up, etc. This was a total nightmare. To top it off, Piedmont refused to send my family member an apology letter. If you truly care about LIFE, don't waste it by going to Piedmont's ER. Customer service severly lacked and professionalism. I was told by a Piedmont nurse that, she doesn't even go to Piedmont's ER. All the positive reviews on this site are either falsified or from Piedmont staff. I must admit that Piedmont's backbone lies with their speciality physicians. Peidmont's ER is your welcome to your grave!!!! HEED THIS WARNING: DO NOT ENTER!!!!!!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
My wife fainted each time they tried to move her out of labor and delivery. Which they tried to do immediately and then two more subsequent times--all with same result. The 2nd time she fainted,... she turned super pale with blue lips. I made the simple suggestion that they give her some oxygen until she regains conscientiousness (you know, with that tubing they put in your nose) and the bedside nurse and then the charge nurse both took a turn telling me it was NOT my place to make suggestions. This was our 2nd baby at piedmont with a number of years separating each birth. What a difference time makes. We had one wonderful RN and 3 RNs that well, where at best, indifferent and mostly where no where to be found. After that first frightening night, where they simply slapped her on a stretcher and carted her over to mother and baby, my wife asked the nurse about doing a sids bath. The nurse seemed to not know what we where talking about and then finally had a tech drop of the plastic tub in the room. At no point did anyone offer to help her take her first sids bath or explain to us how to use it despite us having beep the call bell several times over an eight hour shift. The problems described in the media that Piedmont seems to be having are clearly evident all the way down to the bedside and elsewhere. For example, they went from 3 lactation consultants to 1. Conclusion: The drive to Northside Hospital is totally worth it.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

My family and friends have used the services and facilities of Piedmont Hospital many times over the years, and we're personally acquainted with some of their employees. The care and attention we've received there have been excellent.
Piedmont is a great hospital, staffed by nurses and other professionals who clearly enjoy being there. They make your stay pleasant, even when you're there under difficult circumstances. The labor and delivery nurse who was with us at the stillbirth of our first child still remains in touch with us after almost 20 years!
Took my friend to the ER because she had food poisoning. The staff in the waiting area were nice and understanding and did as much as they could, but it wasn't until SIX or SEVEN hours later that a doctor actually saw her.
What more can I say. A great hospital with caring providers and excellent administration
Piedmont is a great hospital. They delivered all four of our children.good for repeat business!! I have also had two minor surgeries performed in the outpatient clinic. I was very happy with the treatment and service.
My father was in Piedmont for a couple of months due to heart surgery. The Drs. and nurses were very caring and performed a miracle to keep him alive through all he went through. He really should not have made it and he is still alive today 2 years later thanks to the care and treatment he received at Piedmont Hospital.
This smaller hospital provides excellent medical services and treats patients as individuals, not as numbers. Women's Services and Maternity Center are exceptional.
