Pineapple House designers have degrees in either interior design or architecture. We work in teams to provide superior service and attention to our clients. A house is one of the most significant investments a person ever makes, and there are thousands of expensive decisions and components to be considered. We make sure the entire experience is an informed, delightful adventure for the homeowner.

Pineapple House can handle anything from a simple update to a complex new construction in a different state or country. We can integrate with existing parties, like the client's architect and builder, or independently direct the most demanding project.

One of our most highly acclaimed new residences was on a remote island in Canada. We managed its entire construction package, including the interior architectural specifications (all patterns and materials for walls, ceilings, tile, floors, doors, cabinetry, counters, etc.) Distance was not an obstacle and the project was completed on time and within the budget. In addition to our construction and architectural involvement, for the interiors we conceptualized, designed, manufactured and purchased all of the goods that filled the house. It took two tractor trailers to move everything through international borders and then, onto a ferry to the island, which did not allow cars. The residence was recognized nationally as the winner in the 2010 Dream Home: Best Interior Design competition, received IIDA's "Best of the Best" honors and won an ASID Design Excellence Award. It has been published a number of times, including on the cover of Beautiful Homes, in Elegant Homes and it was selected by Decor as one of their fifteen "Most Gorgeous Rooms Ever."

Pineapple House is transparent with its fee structure. We discuss our design approach and costs on our website under HOW WE WORK. Basically, we ask for a $4,000 retainer and a minimum of $50,000 in purchases. Funds are applied when the client approves the items or services that we propose, such as new furniture, case goods, lighting, window treatments, bedding, accessories, artwork, new upholstery or finishes on existing furniture, etc.

Pineapple House has many success stories. Once a client works with us, if they move or redecorate, it is highly likely that we are asked to work with them again. We did work for the Canadian clients on four different residences before helping build their dream home on the island.
