Too corporate - not enough time spent on diagnosis, 3/21/2013

We ultimately had to take our daughter to a different orthopedic practice to have a correct diagnosis made. Pinnacle appears to follow the philosophy of "get em in, get em out, and get their money" -... had they taken the time to actually order an MRI, as the other practice did, they may have found the source of the problem. But an actual doctor never spent more than 5 minutes with my daughter during any visit to Pinnacle, never seemed to ask any of the right questions, and ultimately this contributes to the perception that they don't really give a hoot.

Do you love your family?, 7/26/2012

For those of you out there that have seen The Carnival of Lost Souls (The Rodger Corman's version), you can relate to what I am about to say. Whereas a group of face painted phantoms surround you on... a carousel, that's much the experience that you will feel when you walk into this orthopedic "center". The first thing that you will notice is a haggard, expressionless receptionist, which will rush you on to explain yourself while not listening at all. As you wade your way back to the waiting room to join the sea of lost souls, you'll will realize that you are in some sort of perpetual purgatory where the only release for you is if you go ahead and walk back out the front door. Otherwise, "welcome to Hades". They may see your mouth move, they are not listening at all. In the end, you will realize that your 6 feet under and they are not here to help at all. The realization at the end is that you are dead in the water and they are just a bunch of fat redneck hillbilly sheriffs and they are just there to dredge your dead lifeless body off the bridge and scratch at their fat redneck bellies and say, "i wonder what happened?" That is about the best that you can expect from this group of buffoons.

Very Informative and helpful

When I hurt my back I went to Dr. Payne in Woodstock and he got me back to feeling well within days. Great office staff and not a long wait for services.

Prescribed prescriptions over allowed limit!

Dr. Bender, a pain management specialist at Pinnacle Orthopaedics, prescribed pain meds for my husband that the pharmacy would not dispense as the dosage is above the allowed amount and taking this high dosage would cause irreparable nerve damage. Dr. Bender concurrently prescribed a pain patch to be used with the over the legal limit of Lyrica. Again, according to the pharamcist, this was not a safe combination. On a previous visit, Dr. Bender prescribed Cymbalta (sp?) to be taken with Lyrica, which caused my husband to be severely ill for several days.

Satisfaction is not guaranteed.

If you can stand a busy and hectic doctors' office and are not very demanding of service, the place is not bad. Dr. Kuczmanski was low-key and informal. The staff seemed a bit indifferent, adding to a "Grand Central" - like atmosphere, but the doctor made up for it in friendliness. ...An update few months later: the doctor's diagnosis turned out to be wrong, so Pinnacle got paid for NOT providing the service. Naturally, they do not offer a refund. When I went back to retrieve my medical records, not only was I charged for them, but the front office clerks treated me like a criminal. They seem to be so busy that they really do not care if they lose a customer. Oh well...
