Disappointing
Living in Atlanta I have been to Pitty Pat's as a child. My husband who is from Texas had never been so we did the tourist trap thing and went for our date night. Upon entering Pitty Pat's we noticed big oscillating fans and it was quite stuffy. The neat freak in me immediately noticed how dusty the nick knacks were and wanted a vacuum cleaner to tidy up. They open at 5 so we were the first ones there. We we're promptly seated and noticed there were fruit flies everywhere. I mean on the walls , on the nick knacks, on the table and flying around. I didn't let this deter me, it's summertime in Atlanta so fruit flies aren't uncommon. My drink was brought in a dirty glass, it has lipstick around the rim. Then my husband ordered chicken which is really hard to screw up. It was sub par. The salad bar that comes with all the meals for free had salads on it that looked like they had been there awhile, one even had a film on top of it as if it had been out for hours, when they had just opened for business. I ordered the mixed grill of sliced pork and chicken. What I got was sliced fat covered in barbecue sauce. Did I mention the fruit flies, well by this time they were hovering in our face and the people behind us were even swatting at them. The Collard Greens which are also free with your meal had not even been sorted properly and have black spot all over them! No true Southerner would ever serve those! The people behind us had to return their food twice because it was wrong and tasted terrible. There were maybe 20 people in here on a Friday night and I know 2 tables were disappointed. The owner was there as I recognized him and I asked to speak him. He never came over. The manager came over apologized and offered a free meal. We refused as people have bills to pay and families to feed. HOWEVER, we will never go back. What a waste and disgrace to Atlanta and Scarlett O'Hara.
