I recently purchased an electric car (Chevy Volt). I wanted to put a 220 volt charger in my garage. Point Loma Electric was suggested by the folks that will provide my charger. I need to mention that my house is over 65 years old and was built by a single individual (not an electric whiz) way back then. Jim Dent smiled when he saw my three (3) antique breaker boxes and named every breaker by sight (even they are no longer manufactured). He did a thorough examination of my requirements, gave me a quote on a new meter and breaker box, came to the house at the hour he promised, and finished the big job in one day. They cleaned up the original electrical mess that I had, installed a single breaker box (eliminating the original 3), and I now have a modern 200 amp service instead of the shaky 100 amp service that I had. His price was fair, his service excellent, and his crew cleaned up the premises and left it spotless. I'm now a fan of Point Loma Electric! They have my highest recomendation

Jim and Mark did a great job fixing some electrical issues at my house. They were professional and efficient with their time. They explained the reasons why I was experiencing problems as well as what they did to fix the problems. I strongly recommend Point Loma Electric.

Jim of Point Loma Electric did a terrific job on my residential project.  Even though the old wiring presented a challenge, Jim found a great way to get the job done and the results were better than I expected.  Jim was courteous, professional and clearly very skilled.  I'd recommend him anytime!

We have an older 1950's home that other electricians quoted as 'difficult and challenging', but to Jim it was another day on the job. Jim and his Irish coworker performed the service upgrade in a matter of hours and finished off the other electrical work over the next few days. He gave us an honest quote on what was needed and what could wait. The best part about Jim is the attention to detail, he was on time each day, worked safely and efficiently and he even patched up the ceiling and walls when completed. We will be using Point Loma Electric for our future upgrades.

Jim and his Irish co-worker installed recessed lighting with dimmers in four bedrooms. The result is fantastic. They also installed some track lighting and replaced old outlets. We are very pleased with the results. The men were punctual and fast, and pleasant to have around. We will call them again with any future needs.
