Spent $600.00 to find out my dog had a fever and they couldn't tell me why. Way too expensive. Not a good value.
Been going since Sept. 2012. I talked to the office manager. Meet Mrs. RUDE CONDESCENDING herself. I called to schedule vaccinations & boarding. She gave me pricing which seemed high. I called 4... other hospitals within 3-6 mile they were cheaper. PFAH was priced 2 to 3 times more! I recalled her to explain to her what I found. She interrupted “I am comfortable with our prices we are in line with our competitors in this area” just nasty and wrong! I went on to tell her for financial reasons I would have to take my pup elsewhere but would leave the boarding as scheduled and that the other vet would be writing me a prescription for heartworm.. she interrupted me again “I just want you to know we are not a pharmacy, and we only fill prescriptions for people we have a relationship with and a dog we have seen within a year.” Well I guess she forgot my dog was there 90 days ago AND this is her only vet she is a year -6mths we don’t have a relationship? She said she was just giving me information. LIAR.. she meant every word and since it didn’t apply to me why tell me at all! I told her I was afraid to board my dog she said “OH I would never…” I told her keep the passion if she can’t treat me like a decent human being what makes her think I trust her with my pet!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

Dr. B is asolutley wonderful! I cannot say enough about her compassion and dedication to the field of animal medicine. Dr. B will treat your pet with the same love and care as if it was her own! Myles(my golden) and I are forever grateful to her for finding his heart murmur. Myles will live a full healthy life but had she not found it who knows how long my puppy would have lived! So here is to Dr. B one of the best, if not the very best vet in town!

I have been seeing Dr Smith since I was 9 years old. We took our dog there after moving from dunwoody to Sandy Springs. We first went because it was convenient, but have continued going out of love. Dr Smith has gone through many dogs with my family. He ALWAYS gives progress calls after surgery and tries to do the same with any labwork. When my family moved to Florida we would drive up here to see Dr Smith whenever things were serious. He checked out our new dogs and always speant time. When one of our dogs was diagnosed with cancer, he speant a lot of time helping us make the necceassary decisions. I now live in Roswell and Dr. Smith is still my vet! All the doctors are great, as is the staff for both dogs and cats (I speak from experience). Give them a try, you will never look back!

The staff is knowledgeable, accomodating and friendly. Most importantly, they absolutely love animals! PFAH was our vet from 1989 until 1998 with our first dog. They were so informative, attentive and gentle with our dog when he was diagnosed with cancer. They made the difficult time as easy as possible. They genuinely cared about our dog and our family and even sent a condolence card and made a donation to the UGA Vet School. We adopted a rescue puppy in 2006 and returned to PFAH. They continue to provide outstanding service and genuinely care about the animals they treat. I highly recommend their services.

We miss our vet in Atlanta since we moved to Savannah. Powers Ferry Animal Hospital is the finest facility anywhere-great Vets, and lots of compassion. You will not find a better one anywhere. Al Ikenberg Savannah, Ga.

After having my greyhound start losing her toe nails and no one knew what was going on, I was recommended to Dr. Scott Miller at Powers Ferry Animal Hosp. He completely impressed me. Not only did he know what was going on but even took time to research new treatments and even show me his research. I felt 100% better knowing that my dog was in the proper hands. Dr. Miller always "puppy talks" to my dog and even gets down on the floor as to not intimate her. He's a true dog lover (has two of his own) and is very understanding of my budget. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Miller and the entire staff at PFAH. They are wonderful!!! A class act all the way!

These vets are the best. They are knowledgeable and highly skilled, in addition to being compassionate animal-lovers and respectful and polite to their clients. They are not inexpensive, but they have invested in equipment and technologies to provide the best possible care for their patients. I moved away many years ago, but I have continued to drive 45-60 minutes each way to take my pets there. I have found that they provide exceptional care for geriatric cats and dogs. These are very special vets, and I trust them absolutely with the lives of my beloved babies!

When we moved to the Atlanta area 12 years ago I chose PFAH because it was close to the apartment where we were temporarily located until we moved into our home. I just assumed that after we moved I would switch to a clinic more convenient to our home - but I never left PFAH! In all the years I've had animals (and that's a long time) I've never met a more caring veterinarian than Dr. Andy Smith. He is simply the best there is - period.

The doctor is nice, and friendly, but that is where it ends. The staff is rude, and hard to work with. The medication they have is way overpriced, and the staff gives you a really hard time about getting the prescribtion from them, so you can go elsewhere. I will not be doing business again with this place.

After going to another vet for almost 25 years, we switched to these vets, for our new kittens. Dr. McDearmon was reccommended by the Abernathy Emergency Animal Hospital. I love how they care about our pets, as if they were their own. Their knowledge and up to date medical techniques are reassurring. Their boarding facilities are spotless and the cages are the roomiest I have seen. They make sure to play with the pets and keep them happy. They do not tack on extra's like baths and administering medicine. What a refreshing change from the antiquated facilities of Vernon Woods.

These guys are very friendly, and I think they care very much for your animals. They have Saturday hours which is very helpful. I do believe, however, they are a little bit on the higher side in cost, but it may just be that I have not been to another area vet in too long. I started using these guys after moving away for two years.
