a REAL Pro and a nice guy too!!!, 11/17/2009

I've been playing guitar for almost 25 years and 100% self-taught. I regard myself as a professional player even though I don't make a living from it. I've played publicly in bands for years. I felt... that there was so much I didn't know cuz I taught myself and alot of what I do, I can't even tell you what I'm doing - I just know it sounds good but I lacked the formal training to communicate what I'm doing. I found out about Jim through other musicians who've played with him but I've heard his name circulated for years. I connected with him and signed up for lessons and wow! This guy not only plays great but he's a walking music encyclopedia. He knows everything it seems like. I've learned so much from Jim and he's THE MAN to take me to the next level in my playing. I feel like I've really should have looked Jim up years ago when I first heard about him. 20/20 hindsite now. Jim's awesome as a teacher and he's a really nice guy too, makes the whole experience fun and challenging at the same time. I'm stoked! Brian W.

I'm amazed!, 6/03/2009

I had taken lessons from another teacher before I came to Jim and wasn't getting anywhere. I looked for someone else to study from and I was referred to Jim by my friend Trey, who is an excellent... player and had taken lessons from him too. I've taken lessons from Jimmy for about 8 months and in the beginning he told me that I wouldn't even recognize my playing in 6 mos. He was right. Not only can he teach very thoroughly and make sure you understand everything, but he's patient and he keeps you on a very defined track to work on that gets results. My wife was noticing it after just a couple of weeks and kept telling me I was doing really good. Jim's really great at inspiring too. So here it is 8 months later and I'm just floored with how far I've come. I'm now playing publicly in front of friends and their all impressed with me. I really recommend lessons from this guy, he's a class act and very down to earth. He has a way of drawing the best out of you. It's money worth spent..and the funny thing is I paid more for my last teacher and got nowhere. What a deal to study with Jim. Thanks! Dave
