Thankfully, a friend referred me to Providence Women's Healthcare, and my experiences there have been above reproach! I absolutely had no clue where to go to next after making the decision to find a new OB/GYN office to help deliver my second child. Providence Women's Healthcare met my requirements: I knew I wanted a caring, friendly and competent office staff, a clean and relaxing office environment and an honest, empathetic, reputable and professional doctor who listened well and cared about my desires and then integrated them with her professional expertise. My second child was delivered by the wonderful team of midwives and Dr. Dunson-Allen of Providence Women's Healthcare. Because of their specialized care for me (high risk--40 years old and gestational diabetes) and belief in me, they helped me deliver my son naturally (and without an episiotomy). Be sure to check out the "Centering Pregnancy" class which is a highly informative birthing class and a fantastic place to meet and learn with and from other pregnant moms. The team of doctors, midwives and professional staff at Providence Women's Healthcare are an exceptionally caring and professional group. My entire family is grateful for them!

I went to one appointment with a midwife at this location and decided to switch. The midwife and staff were all half asleep. When I sat down in the room there was an old, crusty cover on the vaginal ultrasound!! Disgusting. After four months went by I heard they hired some new midwives so I called to ask about them but was told instead that I owed them for my first appointment. That appointment was four months ago and I never heard anything from them. She threatened to send it to collections! Give me a break. They never called or billed me; I luckily called them. Not surprisingly they have a very poor rating on the BBB due in part to a collections claim that was unresolved. This place is a train wreck. I hope the new midwives can make some improvements!

They are very responsive, kind, and knowledgable. They got back to me within a week about test results. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new doctor. There office is beautiful and welcoming.

I'm not sure who I saw, but the doctor was white with blonde hair. I told her that I'd recently been hospitalized for an anxiety attack, struggled with depression, etc. I also informed her that hormone-based birth control exacerbates these and other symptoms (my exact wording: "it makes me completely crazy"). For this reason, I told her I was interested in a diaphragm and a copper IUD in June when my insurance begins covering it. Instead, she convinced me to get the Depot shot even after I expressed sincere concerns about this treatment. Her response "That was a long time ago. The drug has significantly improved. It's just progesterone; estrogen is the hormone that makes people crazy." NOW?? I have been crying without reason uncontrollably for 3 days, lashing out at my loving partner, and having some suicidal thoughts. I AM FURIOUS and will NEVER go back to this place again.

I called about my results but no return phone call. 4 months later they wanted me to come in to discuss my results! Needless to say, I won't be back; office lacks professionalism and not impressed!

The whole practice needs a good lesson on professionalism. Medical assistant who checked me in was rude to say the least. After waiting naked for 45min with only a paper towel over my legs, Dr. Dunson-Allen came in and answered her cell phone twice and carried PERSONAL conversations. One of the times she talked while doing my breast exam!!! She touched her cell and then my breasts! To finish my "lovely" visit, they told me they threw my urine sample away by mistake??? So I was asked to give a new one. Why would you throw a labeled sample requested by the doc? Needless to say: I'll never be back and I let them know why. I found a WAY BETTER practice. Don't waste your time with people who don't take pride on what they do. It's your health after all.

A friend of mine used this doctor and I followed.. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional and does show her love of her profession through the way she connects with her patients.. I disagree w/ the person that said she did not remember her patients or that she did not follow OB/Gyn guidelines. I'm the daughter of an OB/Gyn and from having lived with someone with such compassion for what they do, something is wrong w/ this patient, obviously. This doctor is as great as they come!

dr. dunson allen is a great doctor who preformed my surgical procedure; three weeks ago. i had gone to several other doctors who could not diagnois me, or did not have the expertise to preform my surgery. but she did, she was informative, knowledgeable before and after my surgery and took the time to speak with me; and spoke to me in laymans term as to understand my procedure and post op care. i would recommend her,and appericate the excellent care she gave me and i hope to continue to give me in the future; after years of looking it is nice to find a doctor that knows and cares about there patients.

Dr.Dunson-Allen is a great OB-GYN. She always profession and caring. She spends quality time with each patient during your visits and remembers what you have told her during the last or previous visits. Her staff is wonderful-they take time to answer your questions and address your needs. Dr. Dunson-Allen was exceptional during my pregnancy and delivery. She made my delivery so easy!! I moved across town (about 30 miles from her office) but she is still my OB-GYN. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new OB-GYN!!

This doctor's office will always say that they are accepting new patients, regardless if they have time to provide proper prenatal care, or not. This doctor does not follow obsteric guidelines for proper prenatal care in office visits, does not return emergency phone calls, does not adhere to appt times, does not know patients by face or name, without refering to patient records, and does not exude any air of professionalism. The staff is nice enough, but needs to get it togetheir. I transfered immediately and do not recommend this doctor anyone. Good luck!
