Purple Hippo Art Studio

I had my son's 5th birthday party at the Purple Hippo and couldn't not have been more thrilled with the event! The kids ages ranged from 12 months to 9 years old. There were toys for the younger children (under 2 years) to play with while the rest of the kids enjoyed an instructor led, dinosaur themed painting party in a private room. Kim was incredibly accommodating and easy to work with. We were able to bring our own cake, food, decorations, etc. The instructor read the kids a themed book, then assisted them while they painted a 12x12 canvas with a picture of dinosaur drawn on it, and helped them add accessories and a beaded hanger to it. They even had little nameplates to glue on the canvas with all of the kids names (like Garrettasaurus Rex). Meanwhile, the adults were able to hang out outside of the room and socialize. All of the kids got to walk out with their own piece of art to hang on their wall. It was a great event, and all of the parents and kids had a wonderful time.

Thank you Purple Hippo for a fantastic party! What a refreshing change from the standard "bouncy house" party!

I take my twin 5 years olds here all the time! 1 son loves to paint and do the typical art stuff while the other loves to play with the non art stuff like Brio, magnets and dinosaurs. The staff are wonderful and interesting to chat with.

I have been taking my daughter, nieces, friends, and anyone else who enjoys making art to the Purple Hippo since it opened a year and a half ago! What a friendly, inviting place to create! Painting, collaging, making gifts or having birthday parties you can do it all there! I highly recommend this place in the middle of Dunwoody village.
