Terrible Customer Service, 2/10/2009

I purchased from R & K Comics & Cards online store, longbox.net. I placed an order with them, and after the order was complete and paid for, I was sent an email saying it was out of stock. No... indication as to when they might have them back in stock, if ever. I sent an email saying I wanted a refund, and I complained that if an automated email 5 seconds after the purchase knows the item is out of stock, then they should be able to display that on the website BEFORE the purchase. My email said, in full, "Please cancel this order and immediately refund my paypal payment. Nowhere on the item description does it say it's backordered, nor does it say so during the ordering process. Not until I've completed the order and paid, I get a confirmation that says it's backordered. That seems like an important bit of information to neglect to tell the customer." Their response was to refund my payment, and email me this gem of a customer service response: "honestly after all of this would rather you just leave us alone. Obviously, you would not be satisfied even if we sent you the product in perfect condition a week before you ordered it." I sent them exactly one email, and "after all that" they gave me a big eff you. I don't think they give a thought to making customers happy, and I would recommend avoiding purchasing from them to anyone.
