Admittedly, the majority of my reviews are negative, but not this time.
I talked my wife into buying a bike at a garage sale, and the tire blew the first time she rode it.
She brought it in to REI, and even though we did not buy it from there, and it was not a $1000 bike, they were great. They fixed the problem and didn't even charge her.
I had heard about REI service before, bt never really bought into it. From now on, if I am considering a purchase, I will check to see if REI has the item first.

We buy everything we can at REI because of their terrific service and lifetime guarantee on all products purchased there! They've always honored this guarantee without question. We love shopping at REIand are off to buy heart rate monitors (for exercising) this week!!...

Great product selection, and they only stock quality products. The people who work there actually get out and use the same products, so someone is always there to give you their personal recommendation or review on items.
They also offer classes to help people get introduced to a new sport or activity.

I recently went to this location to pick up a small item and they were out of stock, but the employee working customer service had the item shipped from another location in Atlanta for pick-up the next day. Very convenient.

REI stands behind their high quality products. You can return something without a receipt years later if you are not 100% satisfied with their product.
