I had a very positive surgical experience at this hospital, and My Dr, Dr Greenfield was wonderful. Everyone there was compassionate, professional, and concerned. When an individual has surgery, you are at the mercy of the caregivers. I want to thank each one of mine for taking such good care of me.

Although others have had a bad experience I had a great one in the ER. I was treated very quickly when I showed up with excruciating back pain. I signed in and waited about 5 minutes to be taken to a room. Dr. Karin Vadelund was outstanding. Granted I will still have to see an ortho doc, she took care of me and my pain at that time. We had a choice to go to Henry Medical or Rockdale Medical. We have used both and Rockdale ER is so much better than Henry. The nursing staff there is not only competent but very friendly and helpful. I would go there again!

I liked the idea of the hospital having a NICU, and although my pregnancy was going well I decided to have my son there anyways. Good thing I did. When he was born he had trouble breathing. He ended up on life support in NICU. He pulled through thanks to the wonderful staff. They were there for us every step of the way. We could visit our son here in town without having to drive to Atlanta. High quality care just a few minutes away.

We have had one great experience here, but have had friends that have had extremely slow service in the ER. We visited the ER for an asthma attack and bad cold. We were immediately taken back and put in a room. All doctors and nurses were extremely friendly and helpful. We were then transferred to Piedmont Hospital because we were admitted, diagnosed with pneumonia, and insurance didn't cover stays at Rockdale at that time. I toured the new birth center in January and plan to deliver here in August. The Smart Start class they held for the first trimester of pregnancy was interesting and the nurse that took us on a tour or the birth place was knowledgeable.

We have used Rockdale Hospital a number of times. We were pleased with my husband and son's outpatient surgeries there. I have my mammograms there and I recommend them for that. The staff are all very nice and caring. My adult daugther is planning to have her baby there in their new birthing center. The only thing I would not recommend them for is for a child if you need stitches for something not a life-threatening emergency. We have used Scottish Rite and Rockdale for our children and have a strong preference for Scottish Rite or Egleston for children. Rockdale is just not set up for kids in the ER like the children's hospitals. My son cut his finger on a bike and the shots/stitches were very painful in the ER. At Scottish Rite they numb the children up very well before they put in needles in them.

The birthing center at Rockdale is absolute first class. The only problem I had there was my doctor. The actual hospital was great. If you decide to have your baby there just do not use Dr. Lee Rippy. The name should scare you off anyway.

I had my son back in august of 2004 and was very pleased with the birthing center and the baby monitors they attach to the babies leg in a sock. Our fell out once and before we knew it they were slaming the door open looking for my son. I find that reliving. I've visted others recently and have seen they have even upgraded their security measures so looking forward to new birth in april of 2006.

after waiting for over 6 hours to be seen in the emergency room after a serious accident, the attending physician requested xrays of the wrong arm and the wrong leg; well at least they weren't broken; the other ones were!
