My husband and I both used to go to Dr. Rachal but the staff and billing have become such an issue we both left. There are huge charges for Dr. Rachal spending one second to burn off moles and the screenings are coded in such a way that our preventative insurance won't pay and we have to spend hours hassling with them. Today the staff was just plain rude to my husband on the phone. Dr. Rachal is good but we've had it.

I have been to many dermatologists and been disappointed on numerous occasions. When I had a rash, my dermatologist couldn't see me for 4 months! I called Dr Mack Rachal and he saw me the next day...even though I wasn't a patient! He knew what my problem was and gave me a Rx. I was out the door in 15 min and the rash was gone in a week. My family and I have seen him for several years now and he is great! Smart, informative, and knows his specialty! He's the best!! (His PA is great, too!)

Started seeing Dr. Rachal more than four years ago, and his staff has gradually gotten more and more rude, to the point of intolerable with their nasty attitudes, and lack of concern. I also no longer feel like the doctor cares at all, as he's started to refuse to call in the prescriptions that he's called in for years, until he sees me in his office. Well, if he won't call in one night's worth of an anti-inflamatory so that I'll actually be able to get up and get around, then how am I supposed to make it to the office, where I'm charged $35 dollars so my concerns can go in one ear and out the other, and be told to do certain things, things I already do, only to get a look that's as good as calling me stupid. Seems like some doctors are making things more difficult on their patients just to make their office visit quota. Never thought I'd feel that way about Dr. Rachal though. He used to be one my favorites.

I have to echo TravelBoy here. The customer service at this place is awful. When I showed up for my appointment, they told me I was a week early. I was not. They said they could "fit me in," yet that meant waiting for an hour and a half as multiple pharmaceutical reps were allowed back. As I left and tried to make an appointment for a yearly check-up, they said they didn't do that. Why ALL of my other doctors do and they don't, I don't know. Dr. Rachal was nice, but I felt rushed. I will not be returning.

I had a serious problem that persisted for over 7 months and brought severe physical pain and consequently depression. I saw five dermatologists before Dr. Rachal, all of whom could not help me. I had a CT scan, x-rays, and numerous blood tests which all came back normal. I saw all kinds of doctors in Atlanta and spoke with four other dermatologists from around the country and they were all equally perplexed. I finally heard about Dr. Rachal, and he was the only doctor of all these bright people who figured out what was wrong. I highly recommend him and his practice. Great Doctor!

... his office staff could use a primer in how to be polite to patients. They called and cancelled my appointment, so I was told to rebook another date. I had to go three months into the future to get a booking. Alas, the condition I was being treated for took a turn for the worse. I called for an appointment sooner than the three-months-out date I was given. The office person said - and I quote - well you can always call 911. I told her it wasn't life threatening. She then said "Well, you can get in line and wait like everyone else." THEN SHE HUNG UP. I called back the next day and was treated equally rudely by someone else who seemed to really not have the time or energy to deal with my simple request. So, great doctor that he is, I had to part company with his practice. (And I got an appointment with another dermatologist within two weeks.)

Dr. Rachal is a rare breed. He is extremely well-read, competent, strangely not profit-driven, and actually wants to help his patients. He will speak to you as an intelligent adult, and more than likely his treatment will make your life a whole lot better. Seeing Dr. Rachal is worth the wait - he is absolutely the best!

Dr. Rachal is that rare find you are looking for. If you want the best, he is the one. He is the reason I am alive today. I do not know why he chose Dermatology, but I am thankful he did. Look no further, because you won't find better.
