Great Atmosphere, 5/04/2010

The farm is both fun and educational. It's a great place for the family and a great place for kids Birthday Parties. And don't forget the Farmer's Market on Saturday's!

Birthday party was a big hit!, 5/04/2010

I think it is important to let people know when they are doing a great job so I thought I would write a quick review. My daughter's birthday party this past Saturday was a big hit with her friends... and their parents. The kids loved the party, and Rancho Alegre did a great job accommodating the large crowd. Thank goodness the weather cooperated too!!!

Beware - Horrible care of horses &dishonest owners

# User Rating: 1 out of 5 stars by MM 03/03/2010 I am sorry to say that the negative reviews about this barn are all true. I have seen trainer after trainer come and go due to their disgust with the owner's dishonest business practices as well as their total disregard for the health and well being of the horses. Pilar and Juan leave their own horses confined to a stall for days on end with no turn-out, and just skip feeding altogether if they get behind financially. They also make a regular practice of using boarder's horses for lessons and pony rides without the owner's knowledge or permission. I wish someone would investigate and save those Paso Finos from the cruelty and neglect. Unfortunately Juan and Pilar are very sneaky about hiding their practices. I would love to rescue a horse but I wouldn't give those people a dime. Don't waste your time or money, or most importantly, your horse's health.

Extraordinary Place to Train, Board and Ride

Rancho Alegre Farm has some of the most knowledgable and highly acredited instructors and barn managers in the state of Georgia. Their stables are kept impecably clean (the owner, Pilar, is borderline obsessive about neatness and organization). They breed and train Paso Finos from Colombia, which if you have never seen in action, they are truly a natural wonder and an addiction to ride. They also host parties and other events at the ranch which have yielded nothing but extremely loyal and satisfied customers. Owners Pilar and Juan are the sweetest, most caring and compassionate people you will ever meet; and the new instructor Eden, is working wonders with the lesson program. I expect to see nothing less than championship quality horses and equestrians from this establishment in the years to come!!

BAD TRAINER

I have been to the ranch many times and while the owners are very nice, the trainer has an attitude problem. She is nice at first but after a while she show's her real attitude. They also feed the horses cattle food. If you have a horse there move it and you will notice a big difference. They also use untested and untrained horses for lessons. Use caution!!! This is not a safe place for small children!!!

Fun Time

I feel blessed to have found Rancho Alegre. My daughter is passionate about horses and truly enjoys her time on the ranch taking lessons and caring for the horses. I always feel welcome and often “hang out” observing the lesson, reading and enjoying the fresh country air. Suzanne is a terrific instructor and ranch manager with a great personality and much enthusiasm. She takes excellent care of the horses and riders. I am pleased to say that the safety of the rider and horse is a top priority. My daughter looks forward to many more visits to Rancho Alegre.

Fabulous!

I recently visited Rancho Alegre and was very happy with my experience there. The trainer is one of the best I have ever worked with. The facility is well equipped, and I especially loved how well maintained and spacious the ridding ring was. I highly recommend this barn!

Great Barn!

I have been with Rancho Alegre for 2 years. They care about the horses that are in their care. They always have safety first when it comes to lessons. I am very happy to have my 2 horses with them and I know they are being taken care of.
