We were excited to have a family mothers day dinner - only to be highly highly disappointed. First we when the reservations were made there was no mention of it being buffet only. For what we were charged you would have expected something grand. What we got was cold leftovers, mildly chilled desserts, and hefty bill that included 18% gratuity, For what... the waitstaff did nothing but deliver drinks 30 minutes after they were ordered, and never clear plates. Thankfully one of our party complained bitterly and we received gift cards. But seriously, this was the worst mother's day dinner I have ever experienced.

This place was our go-to fancy pants steakhouse up until the remodel/retooling of their restaurant. I wish they had kept it the way it was. Gone are the steaks and seafood that the Ray's restaurants are known for, and in their place a boring "loca-vore" menu. We would come here when we wanted to treat friends or family to a special or celebratory meal. It used to be the place to go for for an awesome bone-in cowboy ribeye, sea bass, raisin bread, filet, massive seafood towers, oysters...and now its sandwiches, chop steak, strip and one token filet. Boo. We understand that restaurants need to have a face lift every once in a while and update their menus but why deviate from what you're known for and what you do best?

Talk about over-rated! Before going for our first visit, I checked their website and noted that they prefer "business casual." Therefore, just to be safe, we dressed appropriately. Turns out it was completely unnecessary -- even the Wait staff wore jeans. Our food quality was mixed; three of us had Filet Mignons and Ribeye -- all three steaks had to go back to the kitchen. And, for $30 to $40 per entree, there was no bread, no salad, no sauce?! Wow. I could do better at Western Sizzler. Average tasting food for five of us, for $170 plus a $30 tip? Never again.

My wife and I dined at Ray's Killer Creek for our anniversary, we have 2 small children and very rarely go out to eat at nice restaurants. I asked if they knew how to "Pittsburgh" a steak properly to which their answer was a quick "of course" we do. I was served a hockey puck. I couldn't actually believe they brought this burned to a crisp piece of meat to our table. After attempting to cut into it unsuccessfully our server politely removed it and asked if they could try again. I declined and just enjoyed talking to my wife while she ate. They took it off our bill. Two weeks ago we decided to give them another try knowing I would not order a Pittsburgh cooked steak. I ordered the prime rib (medium) and my wife ordered the grouper. My wife's grouper was overcooked and very dry, she didn't eat it. My medium cooked prime rib was under cooked by a mile and had the nerves running through this particular cut. I attempted to cut through it and hit the nerve, as I sawed at it our server grew uncomfortable for the obvious reason. I got through it at last and he asked how it looked, I asked if he had a saw. Needless to say, neither of us were able to eat our entrees. Our bill for food we couldn't eat was 125.00 plus a 25.00 tip. The bus person just reached over to remove my wife's appetizer plate when it had 2 cuts of seared tuna on it and she a fork in her hand. They called the next day to offer us something, I just said no thanks. Two strikes and you're out! Never again.
