Terrible company., 11/08/2011

We had BFI/ turned Republic for 17 years. There is no other choice where we live, so we are stuck with them. When they switched to the blue cans it was bad for us because we have an 850 foot driveway... and either had to leave the cans at the curb and drive our trash down to them, or we would have to roll them FULL, 850 feet. Try to do this in the winter. If your can is not placed EXACTLY facing the way they want it, they leave it. My son took the trash out 2 weeks in a row and the can was slightly crooked and they never picked it up. Apparantly the driver is too lazy to get out of the truck, which I think is not too much to ask considering we are paying for the service (also-with the cans so far away from the house, people have moved them, hit them, etc.)Also, having the trash so far away at the road was a problem for us out in the country because of the animals that would get into it. The trucks also turned around in our yard numerous times after we repeatedly asked them not to. They crushed our culvert pipe on more than one occasion. We faithfully paid our bill for 17 years and maybe would be occasionaly late, but always paid the bill. We recently had our service cut off because my husband had an issue with the online payment and it was late. They wanted to charge all kinds of fees to reinstate the trash pick up, which was completely ridiculous, so we finally cancelled our service. It's always been poor service.
