After 3 years of consecutive surgeries, some unsuccessful by either incompetence or negligence, my spirits were understandably low. I decided to give myself a new, invigorating look but I did not know where to start. My husband twitted a well known actress/celebrity. Among her advice was Richie Arpino's salon. Richie not only transformed my looks, but his salon is blessed with positive karma. My visits are my therapy. Color by Winnie and a cut by Richie give me the look I have been looking for. And a smile on my face. Susan G. Mouyal

bought certificate thru Living Social Deal. intended to use the cert value for massage. 1.5 hr (90 min) massage to be the value.130pm, to Massage room upstairs. Normally, Therapist asks you to turn over at midpoint. When she did, I:that didn't seem like 45 minutes of my 90 minute massage" She didn't reply. After more time, she said "well, we are done". Since one doesn't wear watch nor have clock you lose track of time. I:what time. She:230pm. I told her I had a 90 minute. she: "I was told that it was hour massage" I explained misinformation, that it was indeed supposed to be 90 minutes. So, she said, "then, do you want more hands & feet? I said "Whatever you want will be fine". After a few minutes more (once again, it is hard to know the time when you are lying on the table with no clock and no perception of time) She: "we are done...You can lay here, relax, take your time" However, I knew that I had another appointment right after. So,got up, dressed, washed hands and went downstairs. When downstairs, the clock said 17 minutes before 3pm. asked where the Therapist went and no one knew. I: "Didn't you see her leave? The door right in front of you" replied there was a back door. I asked to talk Owner or Manager.none available. I left my info asked that someone call me ASAP.This occurred on a Saturday afternoon....by Thursday afternoon, no one called me back. Since this site only allows 250 words, you can go to YELP.com and see the rest of the story.

There are great stylists at Richie's I went there for years and didn't intend to change but it just happened. Richie did my hair for a long time, then I changed to another stylist since Richie is so busy with photo shoots, traveling and benefits. It was hard to get to see him. I went to the other stylist for a number of years and loved my hair. The one thing I didn't like is that he was always late. No matter when my appointment was he was running late - even if I was the first one. I decided to accept this since I loved the way my hair was cut and only changed because I was going to another salon for massages, facials and nails and decided to reduce my trips. One thing that is a little annoying is that the manager runs a little shop with accessories off to the side like many shops have. But she was always trying to sell me stuff from in there. Some of it's pretty cute, but I didn't really want to be sold each time I went in.

I can't believe what I read in that last review! My stylist, Mudd started working there a couple of years ago. He is excellent and I have never seen a dissatisfied customer any time I have ever been in there. I just get a shampoo and cut for $30 which is reasonable. I wouldn't pay $30 for a blow dry unless you are going out somewhere. My sister is VERY satisfied with the color and Mudd's understudy does that for her. She has never complained about the color. I'm just gray so I wouldn't know.

This was the worst experience I have ever had. My long hair was ruined by a terrible color job. Instead of highlighting--as I requested--the stylist turned me away from the mirror and proceeded to bleach all of my roots orange! After three attempts to tone the orange down, the stylist started insulting me! At no point did more experienced stylists try to help or correct the situation. I left in tears and refused to pay for my highligted blond hair with solid pumpkin roots. The next week, the manager called and was very rude to me. She insisted that I return and pay! No "I'm sorrys" NOTHING. A year later, I am suffering the consequences of their mistake. I have since found a smaller, more caring salon. But the damage is done and it will take years to grow off--years to make up for their mistake. Don't let the hype about famous clients fool you. It fooled me and it ruined my trust. Maybe they let a new inexperienced stylist work on me, but I wonder what she was doing on the floor in the first place. My own mother has never messed my hair up that bad and she used Walmart kits!! BEWARE
