My son is a 9th grader who really needed help stepping up to HS classes. Richmond Tutors has helped him greatly in Math, Biology and Spanish. We will continue to use Richmond to all my son's tutoring needs.

My son had a great experience with Richmond Tutors. He received personal attention and improved his ACT scores with each test. He has been accepted by his dream school for college and I attribute this to the help he received at Richmond Tutors. Let's be clear. He applied himself to their instruction, followed directions and it paid off.

I am a student and has been going to Richmond Tutors for a couple months. I feel like whenever i go in for a session, i get everything done that is needed. Winston and the other tutors are a great help. I know i can always count on them for help when it is needed. I advise anyone who needs help for the SAT or even just a section in math, should definitely go to Richmond Tutors. I am very pleased with Richmond Tutors and i will be back for sure.

I spent several days evaluating which tutoring program would best prepare our son for the SAT and ACT. I found Winston, the director at Richmond Tutors, to be a wonderful source of information about the process of preparing to test as well as a wonderful tutor for my son. He tested three different times, scoring higher each time. Later, when we needed a tutor for an AP class, the tutor who Winston assigned was excellent, and our son scored well on his exam. I recommend Richmond Tutors without reservation.

A friend told me about this group, and it was very convenient for us, so I signed my daughter up for some ACT/SAT prep. The owner, Mr. Chapman, is very unorganized and misleading. He sold me a big package ($975) that he said would get my daughter ready to retake the ACT. She had taken it once and did well but wanted to score a couple of points higher to get over 30, and this was what he suggested. The tutor she was assigned to simply reviewed the homework with her every night, so she didn't learn much at all. She went to all of the sessions and finished all of the homework, and her score actually went DOWN. The owner, Mr. Chapman, was defensive, catty and difficult to deal with. I am so mad at myself for spending that kind of money without some written guarantee that her scores would improve like the more reputable tutors offer, such as Appelrouth and Princeton Review. It was a massive waste of time and money, and dealing with Mr Chapman was stressful. On the whole, it was just a terrible experience. I highly recommend going with a company who has a proven track record and who stands behind their services. I should have known the company was unprofessional when I walked through the door and met the owner. Don't make the same mistake I did. You can spend the same amount or less than I did and have some recourse against poor tutoring with many other companies, and they'll likely be more polite and pleasant to deal with than Richmond Tutors. Buyer beware.

At Richmond Tutors, the success of our students is, and always has been, our paramount priority. We work with hundreds of families every year, and our students come to us seeking both academic support and standardized test coaching. While we find it regrettable that this client chose to use a public forum to disseminate misleading information in a vitriolic tone, we welcome the opportunity to respond. It should be noted that, by her own admission, this client was referred by a friend, which is how we come to know most of the families with whom we work. The vast majority of our students realize great success while working with our experienced tutors, and thus word of mouth referrals are incredibly common and have helped our business grow by leaps and bounds. When this particular customer first contacted us, we explained our ACT coaching services to her. For new students, we offer a package that includes ten hours of one-on-one coaching, two full-length diagnostic tests, and all books and materials. Once the initial ten hours are utilized, the student is welcome to continue coaching on an "a-la-carte" basis. Based on the accurate information with which she was provided in good faith, this client elected to use our services and was not talked into anything. In addition, her daughter had previously come to us to prepare for both the PSAT and the SAT, so she must have been satisfied enough to continue with ACT coaching. The student worked with two different tutors, both of whom are highly experienced, vetted, and known to be excellent in the field of standardized test preparation. Her coaching sessions were documented, and she was held accountable for homework and other assignments. This client claims that no written money-back guarantee was provided, and that's the one thing she's right about. No test coaching company offers such a guarantee, since everyone knows that there are far too many variables which effect a student's score. However, Richmond Tutors has always guaranteed that every student's session will be highly effective and instructive - no one leaves our office without a significantly better understanding of the material at hand, and this student was no exception to that guarantee. Our owner and our staff stand behind the services that were rendered. While we are sorry that this student did not score as high on the ACT as her mother might have wanted, it should be pointed out that Richmond Tutors did conduct several follow-up coaching sessions with the student free of charge, and the only additional cost was for an appointment that was cancelled at the last moment. Having just enjoyed our most successful fall ever, we are confident that our services and our business model are a wonderful match for the city of Atlanta!
I applied for employment for this company. The owner was very disorganized by first stating that he was very interested and then waiting for several weeks to actually give me a time to meet. Phone calls to the company were left unanswered. Don't bother seeking employment at this company. The lack of organization skills by the owner greatly reflects upon the service quality of the company.

Richmond Tutors prides itself on locating, hiring, and retaining the best and most professional educators in the Atlanta area. Our longevity, reputation, and success rate with students all speak for themselves. While we are sorry that this individual believes that he or she was not treated fairly, it would be both impractical and unrealistic for us to interview each and every tutor candidate. We receive hundreds of emails and phone calls every year from individuals who want to work with us. Based on resumes, cover letters, and phone interviews, we conduct in-person interviews before making any hiring decisions. Our students and their families know that we offer the best one-on-one tutoring and standardized test coaching in Atlanta, and identifying talented, patient, and understanding tutors has always been the key to our success. Having just finished our most successful fall semester since we opened in Atlanta, we are quite confident that our services and business model are working for our clients, and that's always what matters most!
