A few years ago they took care of a water main leak at my house from poly blue piping. Well, at a townhouse I own it happened again, water main leak from poly blue piping. I called Ridgeway Mechanical on a Saturday morning and by that afternoon the new piping was in under my driveway. I would use them again and recommend them to a friend. Just call Al.

We called Ridgeway mechanical on a Saturday to come out and look at our water heater that was not heating properly. The technician Rob was unable to repair it after several attempts. On his third visit to our house, he just abandoned the job 6 days after initially starting. He literally walked out of my house and said nothing to me. I thought he was going to his truck but he never returned. He and the owner failed to return any of our phone calls. We called another plumbing company who came out at 7pm that same day. The repair was completed to our satisfaction in less than an hour. They will be very surprised when they find that our credit card payment has been rescinded.

Don't be fooled by slick marketing and slogans. Call Ridgeway first for plumbing problems. In the spring last year we came home from out of town and our water main was leaking into the road at the meter. I called "the Honest One" who sent out a guy a day later who told me I had polybutylene piping and it had to be replaced from the street to the house for $4500. I was very skeptical and paid him around $100 to leave. I found Ridgeway Mechanical on the internet and spoke directly with the owner Alan. He asked me how old the house was and said it is highly unlikely that is has polybutylene piping. He suggested to dig out past the flow meter up to the back flow preventer and see what you can find. Amazingly, I did as suggested and found only a one foot section of polybutylene, and the remainder to the house was good pipe. Alan told me how to fix it myself for a few dollars, but I was more comfortable with someone else doing it. He sent a crew over THAT EVENING to replace the valve and short piping for <$200, saving me over $4000. Alan wanted me to fix it myself, and expected no money for his extremely valuable advice. I tell this story often and felt compelled to write this review down. Thanks Alan.

Ridgeway Mechanical prides itself on being the most experienced sewer and water line replacement company in the Atlanta metro area and so I felt confident when I hired them to replace my sewer and water line in Smyrna. I took the day off from work to be at home for them and they showed up this morning with three trucks and a digging tractor. They talked amongst themselves for nearly an hour and then told me that they were backing out of the job because they didn't know they had to get an inspection and that getting an inspection "totally changes things" and would make the job nearly double the price. WHAT?! Why would a reputable plumbing company ever think they could replace my home's main sewer and water lines without having their work inspected by the local jurisdiction?! This is one the most basic, fundamental requirements of their line of work and it is a surprise to them?! Hearing this from the onsite leader was beyond shocking. I suspect it is baloney and the real reason is that they felt they underbid on the job and needed an excuse to back out. They just happened to come up with an excuse that not only made them look like novices, but made them look like an illegally-operating sham of a plumbing company. Bravo. So before you call Ridgeway, keep the following in mind: 1. They might back out of the job or try to charge double. Or worse: 2. They might be replacing sewer and water lines not-to-code and without inspections. - Mach K. Smyrna, GA

I had these guys repair a frozen pipe at a premium price (apparently because of the demand they hiked up the price to twice the normal charge!). I gave them my credit card number. They charged it 2 times. I called and left voice mails and also talked to the owner Alan. The guy said he'll take care of the problem immediately, but has not taken care of it in 5 days! I had to file a dispute with the credit card company. I was a repeat customer with this company. I will stay clear of them going forward!

This company tries to give away their services. I called them with an issue and they tried to solve the issue with me over the phone for $0. They also said to call them back if I had any additional issues. It turns out that I couldn't fix the issue and they showed up the next day. They were respectful, considerate and all this for far less than I expected to pay. You don't need another phone number in your rolodex. Call Ridgeway 1st!!

I needed a plumber and a friend referred me to Ridgway Mechanical. She said she felt they were honest and reasonably priced. I'm glad I took her recommendation -- Ridgeway Mechnical is extremely nice to deal with - I called for a leak in my shower. Alan (the owner) dispatched one of his plumbers and Travis arrived within an hour of my initial call. Travis was very pleasant to deal with and resolved my issue right away. I felt like Travis was very honest and very helpful. I don't think you can beat their prices. I would HIGHLY recommend Ridgeway Mechanical. I will always use them for future plumbing needs.

WE DID NOT TRY TO PRICE GOUGE. There was a lot more work done on the water heater than your average install. The toilet paper is from where the plumber cleaned up your leaking rusted water heater and he forgot to flush them. Sorry. P.S nice hairdo
I spoke with Jamie about 2pm, explained my situation, a leaking hot water tank. That sucks!!!! Water on the floor!!!! Jamie explained that he could send someone over that evening. He sent over the best techs later that day. James and Kevin arrived at 6pm, replaced my hot water tank and hauled the old one away like a NASCAR pit team. They showed me how to operate the pilot and all safeties on the heater. They were out by 8pm and were very neat, cleaned up everything behind themselves. I was taking a hot shower by 9pm. WOW!!! Thanks Guys!

After interviewing several, supposedly highly reputable companies listed here on Kudzu for plumbing, as well as doing background checks on each one by virtue of www.bbb.org, my wife and I reached the conclusion that Ridgeway Mechanical, INC. was offering the absolute minimum and reasonable pricing for plumbing repairs we needed to be completed. James and Mike from Ridgeway Mechanical, performed, confirmed and completed repairs on our home on 7.13.13. The work completed was of quality and accuracy, and is covered under warranty. They even kept our living space (brand new carpet) clean and free from residue (including the crawlspace) during and after repairs. James and Mike, as well as other representatives we spoke with earlier on were respectful, honest and hospitable to us. But more importantly, they (Ridgeway Mechanical) listened to us to gain an understanding of our issue, and quickly resolved our issue in a timely manner. The confidence and experience of these gentlemen, along with the track record of the company they represent, saved us around $1,700.00 of additional cost for plumbing repairs on this very day. In that regard, if you need plumbing repairs, call Ridgeway Mechanical right now. Don't make the $1,700.00 mistake we almost made by calling someone else!! Be Blessed, TuckerJob

We called Ridgeway at 9 PM on a Saturday night. We had just received a water bill that was more than 3 times its normal amount. They were very kind and came out the next day, on a Sunday. They ascertained that it was the main pipe leading from the meter to our house. Due to rain they came out the next possible day, which was Tuesday. They were fast, polite, extremely competent and dug up a very minimal amount of grass/dirt - even though the pipe was under the driveway. My sister has used Ridgeway as well. She referred them to me. They are fabulous. If you want a company that is honest, has great pricing, is reliable, and do great work choose Ridgeway!

Called to get a re-pipe quote of entire house. on phone they said no problem. they arrived late, no heads up phone call, really bad attitude while walking around house and finally said we will not provide you a quote. we no longer do this work. wasted OVER AN hour of my time for no reason. When I called the office to ask what happened they called me names and hung up on me. They will lie to you on the phone to get your business They gave a quote for work that 5-plumbers said I do not need and not for what I asked for.
