Visited on a Sunday at 1:30 PM for first time based on neighbors recommendation after restaurant first opened. Definitely NOT worth the trouble. Seemed like half the menu items were covered by a sticker indicating they were no longer available and my first choice wasn't available either (even though there was no sticker). It's sad when the best food on the plate is the beans and rice. Tamale was very dry and hard. They don't even offer complimentary chips and salsa - what Mexican restaurant DOESN'T do that?!? Complete disappointment.

I'm going to get nit picky here. The salsa portions were small for the chips that they brought out. (chips were the only good thing about the entire experience). One third of the menu items were blocked off because they are "reducing the size of the menu". I can appreciate that, but let's be a little more professional here. The entree portions were really small for the prices. I can't state that enough that the portions were really tiny. $7 queso for a SMALL bowl. Not worth it. All the menus were sticky and the bathroom had a TERRIBLE smell. I'd rather go back to Taiwan than use their bathrooms again (that is saying something). End result: Small portions, not so tiny prices. Go elsewhere.

Dinner tonight was awful. Our hostess seated us at a dirty table and we didn't have silverware or napkins til half way through our meal (even after asking). The cost was ridiculously high... $10 for guacamole? $4 for a kid smoothie? And the quality of the food was average at best. My husband was brought the wrong meal and as compensation (the waiter didn't return to our table to check in until everyone else had finished. And yes, we tried twice to get his attention.), he gave us a version of the right meal in a doggie bag. Will not return and suspect Rio Nuevo will be out of business very soon.
