We took our Golden Retriever to Robin's Groomingdales the day after Christmas to be groomed. We picked her up same day and they didn't mention any problem. That night, we noticed the dog was rubbing her ears, but didn't think too much of it. The next day when I was petting her she winced as I squeezed behind her ears. Upon investigation, I saw that she had severe cuts behind BOTH ears! We took her immediately to the vet. She required emergency surgery and received 7 stitches behind one ear and 4 stitches behind the other. When we talked with Robin, the owner, she said that they had no idea that anything had happened. We also talked to the groomer, Brooke, who claims she had no idea she had injured the dog. This is an open grooming area. I must admit that I find it difficult to imagine that they didn't know there was an issue. I can understand that one ear might be an accident but BOTH ears! I told Robin that the vet said they should never use scissors to remove mats behind the ears for just this reason. Robin said she had been grooming for 40 years and they routinely use scissors to remove mats behind the ears. The only positive is that they promptly reimbursed the $765 vet bill and refunded the grooming fee and tip. Needless to say, we won't be going back. In the attached pictures, that is a quarter being held up to show the size of the wounds.

Robins is a wonderful groom shop For quality and service. Tina is great and gets my dog done on time. She goes the extra mile to make her customers happy. My dog always comes out looking great. If you want a good groomer ask for Tina or Robin they both aim to please and having been grooming for over 25 years. The prices are really great

Depending upon which groomer you get, this business can be good. Their prices are fantastic. However, the attitudes are horrible. It is hit and miss (at best) at this location. Robin is the worst. She will not spend any time discussing the cut that you want. Other groomers are OK. Just OK. I used to have a groomer here that I loved, but I will have to look elsewhere/ pay higher prices to find that quality again. If you go to this location, use Emily. She is very sweet, and the haircut is worth the money. Otherwise, go somewhere else. DO NOT USE CINNAMON! Also, the amount of hair on the floor of this business really bothers me. How clean can they be with that little concern for the hair? Come on... I am now concerned about my baby getting an infection or something worse...

Robin has groomed my dogs for over 25 years. She is wonderful and my dogs, mutts or purebreeds look wonderful. She is a concerned, caring business owner and she always gets my business. She is also recommended by various veterinarians in the area.

This owner does what she thinks is right, not the customer. I supplied instructions for the grooming and time after time they do whatever they want and not what the customer wants. They give explanations of how what they did is the way its supposed to be, that a (x) breed is supposed to get that kind of haircut, not the one the customer requested. The problem is they have no skill, they make all the small breeds look the same - and styled like a poodle even if they are not a poodle. They cut dog hair without authorization when you just take the dog in for a bath. I am sure they are nice people but they can't follow instructions.

The most recent reviews of this business are completely inaccurate. I have been a customer for more years than I can count, and my experience has been fantastic. They always listen and follow my instructions perfectly. They are also able to offer suggestions and modifications to make my dog look her best. On the rare occasion that I have not been completely satisfied, they have gone above and beyond to ensure that I am happy. The prices at this business are comparable to, if not lower than, other nearby grooming businesses, yet the quality is superior. They also offer very convenient hours, and they are usually willing to work you in- even last minute. All of this, combined with their superior knowledge and expertise is why they have made a lifelong customer out of me.

I read mixed reviews for a shop in business for 30 years I figured any retailer can't satisfy everyone, the not so good reviews were isolated instances, they must be doing something right to be in business 30 years. Turns out my experience almost exactly mirrored many negative reviews. I specifically gave Robin the owner instructions to NOT trim anywhere near the face/eyes/nose/head. I agreed to what is known as a sanitary cut and only around the genitals. She repeatedly tried to convince me to trim around the face and I repeatedly said if you can't wash away the tear stains I still do not want any trim anywhere on his head or face. He is only 4 months old! Not only did they trim all over his head/face they cut the top of his head, and shaved way too close on his nose, snout and around the eyes to the point it is uneven, red, irritated, crusty. I've been applying lotion every day. He didn't eat/go potty for 2.5 days, was scratching all over,they did not rinse well from shampoo. The celebrated owner herself did all this. She can't follow instructions,is stubborn with an ego, insists she knows what's best. Also she has so many dogs coming in and out that she does nto remember what one pet parent instructed versus another and seriously, this is not an insult but a true observation, she needs a new optical prescription, her glasses are old she needs new prescription so she can see detail in her work and does not cut puppy faces to the skin. I never had an issue at Petsmart.

We have been taking our dogs to Cinnamon for 10 years and would recommend her to you just like we have to our closest friends. This is the best work we have ever seen on any dogs and our friends can't thank us enough for introducing them to her. Now they have been referring Cinnamon to their friends in Dunwoody and the whole Atlanta area. We can't thank you enough Cinnamon for the beautiful work you have done for us and our frieds. First time going to Groomingdales and I was not happy. I had read some reviews but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I told them I wanted a "puppy cut" and I did not want a tailored low cut. When we picked up the dog, she was almost shaved around her face and she was buzz cut all around with no skill. I could have done that with a butcher knife. I asked for a bow on her head because we wanted it long and she came out with a tie on her neck and hair so short a bow would not fit. Even the four year old asked what happened to the puppy she looked awful! Will not return however they were very nice and gave my puppy a treat to go home with.

I am in & out of town, NYC & L.A. and when I am in town my dogs have always been groomed at Groomingdales. Ofcourse, Robyn (the owner) is the most experienced with every breed. The only "bad" experience I had was when I forgot to tell them (and I suggest always writing down EXACTLY what you desire for your dog & the dogs health problems-weak knees,etc.). Anyway, I don't like my dogs cut, just shaved around the bootie,nails clipped, anal glands, and this one time they cut my Yorkie really short & shaved his nose? The guy that did that is not there any longer, but when I had him again & told him no cutting or shaving, he concurred. Also, my late Maltese (died at 13 years) tongue turned purple during grooming & Robyn let me know this leading to me finding out that she had a heart murmur. So, I was grateful for her concern. Groomingdales has been in business a LONG time & if they were that bad I'm sure they would have been closed down a long time ago. Believe me in the bigger cities I've had much worse and been with held info when they cut my dogs stomach. I like them because if you are polite & tip (which is customary)they will have your dog out in an hour. This is important for older dogs. Liana Loggins

Wow. I came on here to complain and was only a little surprised to see that others are sharing my feelings. I recently had Cinnamon groom my baby, and I wish I had checked here first. I experienced extremely poor quality grooming, generally the same complaints as the previous poster. The only difference in my situation was that she was extremely nice to me. Maybe she saw the previous post and has improved her customer service skills, but she has a long way to go as far as improving her grooming.

I have been going to Groomingdales for 1.5 yrs and was happy with Ezeta, our groomer, who recently left. I was then given an appt. with Cinnamon, who is new. (she went to grooming school - they bragged!) Long story short - - this past Saturday, she cut my dog's nose with her scissors! It was bleeding so bad that we had to take him to the vet across the street! He still has dried blood on his face and glue on his nose. The vet has called me twice since then to check on my dog, while nobody from Groomingdales has followed-up with us. Very unprofessional! Needless to say, I won't be going back there again. I never did feel like they were very friendly, but I kept going because I liked Ezeta. Now is the perfect time to go to Dirty Dogs Day Out, which I have heard great things about!

I have been going here for years and have been very happy until recently. I went to Mary for several years, then Meg, and both were wonderful. Meg left recently, so I spoke with Cinnamon, and I was made to feel very comfortable. She stated that she had been there 18 years, so I was sure to be getting a great service. When I arrived, I was greeted by a woman I had never seen before (Cinnamon). I was confused because I have been coming here for over 5 years and surely would have seen her before. She took my dog, and was not very friendly toward me or my dog. When I came to pick up later, my dog was not ready. I had to wait another 30 minutes for her, and when she was finally ready, I was very disappointed. Her nails were not done, she was still matted under her arms, and her haircut was terrible and uneven. I could have done a better job myself. I believe she lied to me about her experience in order to convince me to go to her. I called to complain, but have not heard back from anyone there. I will go back because of past service, but I will be sure to specify that I don't want Cinnamon. I recommend you do the same.

Before I go on my rant, I will admit that my 1 year old puppy is active to an extreme, but she has never been mean to people or other dogs...EVER. When I dropped my dog off there was no conversation-the girl took her to the back and no employee would even make eye contact with me. I didn't get a phone call but assumed she was done after 1 1/2 hours so I showed up. Apparently she "freaked out". The services that I asked for were not done-well 1/2 of her nails were cut but she was still damp and I could tell that she wasn't brushed. If my animal was THAT freaked out, where was my phone call? It has taken me a full 48 hours to get her back to her old self and she actually attacked me when I was drying my hair today. Don't know what they did to my poor dog but I'd keep your beloved pets as far away from this place as possible.
