This mover is unlicensed & uninsured - be careful!
I found this mover on CraigsList, they advertise frequently and seemed like a good deal. I called the Public Utilities Commission - they regulate movers in California. They warned me only to use a mover that has a valid license and insurance or I could be ripped off, my goods could be held hostage and I could even be sued if a worker is hurt during the move!!! They even directed me to a page on their website where I could check to see if a mover was licensed.
I called Royalty Moving and asked if they were licensed and insured. They kind of hemmed and hawed and in the end I checked it out on my own. They are not licensed, nor do they carry insurance. The Public Utilities Commission said they were operating illegally and could have criminal charges filed against them.
Bottom line is I went with a licensed mover and ran from Royalty. I suggest you do the same and check out any mover you are thinking of using. You can call the P.U.C. at 1-800-366-4782 for help or simply go to http://docs.cpuc.ca.gov/tmis/ to check on any movers license.
